ADOR has taken action to protect the rights of its artist NewJeans. On November 17, ADOR announced through the fan interaction platform Weverse that it has determined the seriousness of rights violations has increased due to the recent spread of malicious fake news about the artist, privacy violations, defamation, and the use of derogatory terms. They will be deploying additional personnel to focus on evidence collection. They plan to file criminal complaints this month against those who made malicious posts on online sites such as NAVER NEWS, Dcinside, instiz, NATE PAN, MLB Park, and the qoo. Based on the results of additional evidence collection, they will also conduct irregular additional prosecutions soon. They are responding more strictly to deepfake crimes. ADOR stated that they recently rejected a reconciliation request from a deepfake perpetrator and communicated their intention for severe punishment to the investigative agency. Furthermore, they are actively cooperating with law enforcement to eradicate deepfake crimes against artists. ADOR expressed gratitude for the love and dedication of fans and will continue to work hard to protect the rights of artists. The five members of NewJeans lost the first trial of the exclusive contract validity confirmation lawsuit filed by ADOR. Since they did not submit an appeal by the deadline of 0:00 on the 14th, the lawsuit ended in ADOR's victory. The dispute between NewJeans and ADOR began in earnest on November 29 last year, when the five members held an emergency press conference and declared that their trust in ADOR had completely broken down, leading to the termination of their exclusive contract. In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract. The court recognized ADOR's claims, determining that there were no grounds for the contract to be legally terminated. The court's ruling indicated that all six claims made by NewJeans were not recognized as factual. Among the five members, the youngest, Hae-rin and Hae-in, were the first to seek a return. It was confirmed that ADOR's representative, Lee Do-kyung, met with four members of NewJeans and their guardians on the 11th of last month, excluding Hani, who was staying in Antarctica. After discussions with ADOR, Hae-rin and Hae-in officially announced their return through ADOR on November 12. In this regard, ADOR stated, "The two made the decision to respect the court's ruling and adhere to the exclusive contract after careful consideration with their families and sufficient discussions with ADOR. ADOR will do its best to ensure that Hae-rin and Hae-in can continue their entertainment activities smoothly. We kindly ask for the warm support of fans and request that speculation about the members be refrained from." Meanwhile, Minji, Hani, and Daniel revealed to some media reporters three hours after the official announcement of Hae-rin and Hae-in's return that they had decided to return to ADOR after careful discussions. They explained that the communication was delayed due to one member being in Antarctica and that they had to inform their position separately due to a lack of response from ADOR. They expressed their desire to meet fans with heartfelt music and performances in the future. ADOR plans to conduct individual meetings with Hae-rin and Hae-in, who returned after discussions, as well as with Minji, Hani, and Daniel, who expressed their intention to return in a notification format. In this regard, ADOR stated on the 13th that they are adjusting the schedule for individual meetings with the members and will do their best to facilitate smooth discussions. The exclusive contract period between ADOR and NewJeans is set until July 31, 2029. ADOR announced that they will actively support the members' activities, including promoting the release of a new full album upon their return.
ADOR has initiated a lawsuit seeking 43 billion won in damages from NewJeans' Daniel and Min Hee-jin. The initial court hearing is scheduled for the 26th. This follows a previous ruling where Min Hee-jin won against HYBE. ADOR claims Daniel's family is responsible for delays in NewJeans' comeback.
Daniel from NewJeans will have her fan communication records removed from the official platform Phoning, as ADOR restructures content amid ongoing contract disputes. This decision follows a legal battle regarding her contract with ADOR, which has raised concerns among fans about consumer rights and the implications for future disputes in the industry.
The Korean Entertainment Management Association has officially addressed the controversy surrounding NewJeans, recognizing it as a serious issue that could undermine the trust within the Korean pop culture industry. They demand accountability from those involved, particularly Min Hee-jin, and stress the importance of eradicating unethical practices like 'tampering' in the industry.
Min Heejin proposes to forgo a 25 billion yen claim against HYBE to conclude all ongoing lawsuits, emphasizing the well-being of NewJeans and the K-POP industry. She expresses gratitude for the court's rulings and aims to shift focus from legal battles to creative endeavors, urging for a harmonious environment for artists.
Min Hee-jin, at a press conference, proposed to HYBE to end all ongoing civil and criminal lawsuits in exchange for 25.5 billion won. She emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts for the benefit of NewJeans and the K-POP industry, stating her intention to focus on nurturing new artists and business directions.
The Seoul Central District Court has granted HYBE's request to suspend the enforcement of a payment ruling against Min Hee-jin, which was set at 25 billion won. This decision halts her request for a temporary seizure of HYBE's bank accounts. Min had previously filed for account seizure following a favorable ruling in her lawsuit against HYBE.
Min Heejin denied reports of meeting with Japanese investors regarding NewJeans, criticized media for spreading falsehoods, and announced legal actions against HYBE for contract violations. She won a court ruling requiring HYBE to pay her 25.5 billion won, leading HYBE to appeal the decision.
A social media post claims that a fan spotted Minji from NewJeans in London, describing her outfit and resemblance. The fan noted a name 'Kim' was mentioned nearby, possibly linking to Minji's full name. However, the accompanying photo was too blurry to confirm her identity. Meanwhile, NewJeans' agency ADOR won a legal case regarding their contracts, with some members expressing intentions to return, while Minji continues negotiations with ADOR.
