Japanese model Harlin revealed her experience of not being able to debut as NewJeans and her own position. On the 12th of last month, Harlin appeared on a YouTube channel run by actor Hiroki Takeda, drawing attention by mentioning her time as an idol trainee. She disclosed that she had to give up her dream of becoming an idol due to a sudden decision by the agency just before her debut, stating, 'One day, I was suddenly asked to terminate my contract and received a notice to leave alone.' Harlin, who is from the Japanese idol group Shibu3 project, passed the audition for HYBE's SOURCE MUSIC in 2020. She later transferred to ADOR and trained as a member of NewJeans. Today (14th), she posted a long message on her YouTube channel saying, 'Hello, this is Harlin. Although the hot days continue, looking up at the sky makes me feel that autumn is approaching. Please understand that I am writing in Japanese because my Korean sentences are not perfect and using translation tools may lead to misunderstandings.' She expressed, 'I feel grateful for the sudden attention, but at the same time, I feel a bit worried.' She clarified that the content discussed in the interview reflects her extremely personal feelings of past failures and disappointments, and she hopes people understand that it is not a criticism or exposure of any specific company or individual. She added, 'It was indeed a tough time for me, but on the other hand, it was an opportunity and time that I should be grateful for, which made me stronger. I still support the members who laughed and cried with me back then.' She concluded, 'I will work harder to show a better version of myself in the areas where I am lacking.' No matter how hot the summer is, like the changing seasons with the autumn breeze, I will continue to be the unchanged Harlin. I look forward to your continued support!"
