TWICE's Chaeyoung has released her 1st full album "LIL FANTASY vol.1" and the title track "SHOOT (Firecracker)," debuting as a solo artist. Following Nayeon, Jihyo, and Tzuyu, Chaeyoung becomes the fourth solo artist from TWICE, showcasing her abilities as an artist with an album that depicts her individuality. The title track "SHOOT (Firecracker)," which she participated in writing, composing, and arranging, is a song that shouts her strong aspirations as an artist. It sings of her confidence in the career she will build, attracting attention with a performance that fuses a kitschy melody line with jazz and disco vibes. Chaeyoung is credited on a total of 10 songs, including the title track "SHOOT (Firecracker)," "AVOCADO (feat. Gliiico)," "BAND-AID," "GIRL," "RIBBONS (feat. SUMIN, Jibin of Y2K92)," "DOWNPOUR (with Kai)," "BF," "Kage Asobi," "My Guitar," and the CD-only track "Lonely doll waltz," expressing her individuality through music. Having captivated fans with her unique character and charm while performing globally as TWICE, Chaeyoung's solo debut is drawing attention from fans worldwide. This year marks the 10th anniversary of TWICE's debut, with a new world tour, participation in the Netflix OST for "KPOP Girls! Demon Hunters," and performances at "Lollapalooza Chicago." In this positive flow, Chaeyoung feels it is meaningful to make her solo debut. Chaeyoung: Participating in the original song "TAKEDOWN (JEONGYEON, JIHYO, CHAEYOUNG)" for Netflix's "K-POP Girls! Demon Hunters" and headlining at "Lollapalooza Chicago" were new challenges and great opportunities. I was very happy to receive a big reaction from many fans. I feel very fortunate to be able to showcase my first solo album. I am always filled with gratitude. Fans around the world have high expectations for Chaeyoung's solo work, which has a strong personality. What kind of image did you want to show through this album? Also, I'm curious about the members' reactions. Chaeyoung: It feels like taking out and showing treasures I've collected one by one. The album name "LIL FANTASY vol.1" is the name of the small world inside me. Since the album is packed with my accumulated tastes, thoughts, and attitudes, I think I can show my inner self more honestly. The reason I added "vol.1" after "LIL FANTASY" is to express the aspiration that this story does not end here but will continue in any direction. The members liked the music and concept reflected in my style, and they said they felt as full as I did. That became a great strength. What is the difference between "TWICE's Chaeyoung" and "Solo Artist Chaeyoung"? Chaeyoung: The big difference is that as a solo artist, I can show everything about myself, not as a group. This work has been prepared carefully over a long time, and I would be happy if many people loved and listened to it. This work reflects my opinions throughout the album, from the album name to the production and visuals. I put my all into creating a "Chaeyoung-like work," but if there are any points you particularly want people to pay attention to, please tell us with reasons. Chaeyoung: The overall creative process of the album started mostly from my own drawings for the images and visuals. I want you to pay attention to the details scattered throughout. Also, I put a lot of love into each of the 10 songs on the album, even making videos of my feelings for each song with a self-camera. I hope everyone enjoys my music. I think all the songs I participated in are important, but why was "SHOOT (Firecracker)" chosen as the title track? Chaeyoung: I actually struggled a lot. While thinking about which song to make the title track, I thought a danceable song would be good. Also, "SHOOT (Firecracker)" contains a message of "Let's all celebrate and enjoy the party together with firecrackers," and it also means to celebrate the entire album "LIL FANTASY vol.1" together, so I decided on it as the title track. The teaser video announcing Chaeyoung's solo debut featured the Japanese band Gliiico, raising expectations. The video showed a relaxed and natural appearance, but how was the collaboration with Gliiico? Also, please tell us about your working style as a solo artist. Chaeyoung: With the Gliiico members, we worked in a relaxed atmosphere, chatting freely. Thanks to that, the entire production process felt very natural, and I also felt a warmth like family. I tend to work well in a relaxed environment, and perhaps because of that, this album is composed of songs produced with close friends, and I am very satisfied (laughs). I'm looking forward to the performance of "SHOOT (Firecracker)" as well. Please tell us about the overall choreography. Chaeyoung: It appears a little in the teaser video for the music video, but I incorporated jazz elements while including many clean movements. I also added the atmosphere of 80s and 90s disco, so I would be happy if you pay attention to that. Finally, please say a word to all the ONCE (fan name) around the world who have been looking forward to your solo album. Chaeyoung: I want to sincerely thank all the ONCE who have been looking forward to my album. I hope you all enjoy my important first solo album "LIL FANTASY vol.1" freely and expand your own dreamlike fantasy world.
