Actress Lee Chae-young conveyed her recent situation in Japan. Recently, on the YouTube channel "Kumbong Channel," a video titled "Not fromis_9's Chae-young, but fromis_40's Lee Chae-young" was uploaded. On that day’s "Dondonpocha," Lee Chae-young appeared as a guest. During a drinking talk with SUPER JUNIOR's Shindong, he cautiously asked, "I heard you have a house in Japan because you had a drink?" To this, Lee Chae-young showed a surprised reaction, asking, "How did you know?" Shindong expressed interest, saying, "Is it because your boyfriend is Japanese?" However, Lee Chae-young explained, "If I had a boyfriend, that would be great. If I had a boyfriend in Japan. But that’s not the case. I go to Japan often, so renting is cheaper than staying in a hotel for a month." When asked, "Where in Japan?" she replied, "In the countryside." Lee Jang-jun looked suspicious, saying, "As soon as the topic of Japan came up, you suddenly started eating snacks seriously." Shindong expanded the conversation, saying, "And it’s not even Tokyo, but the countryside." Lee Chae-young answered, "Fukuoka. It’s in Kyushu." When Shindong asked, "Do you go alone? Or...?" Lee Chae-young said, "Alone. I just like it. The food and culture are similar to Korea." She revealed her reasons for staying in Japan. Lee Jang-jun bluntly asked, "If you drink 'Ganbare Otousan' here, isn’t that already Japan? Is there a need to go all the way there?" Shindong also asked, "I’m curious too. Nowadays, you can get anything Japanese in Korea, right?" In response, Lee Chae-young said, "I travel a lot outside of Japan as well," and added, "You should never go to Europe with someone. Europe is where you should go alone. You make friends there." Lee Chae-young had been on a break from activities after leaving the SBS variety show "Goal to Hit Girls" last January. She explained, "Because I worked too hard in 2023, I got a bit sick physically and mentally. So last year, I only completed the work I had already committed to, left ongoing programs, and spent time for myself. I might not stand out for a while now, but I’m living firmly in various ways, so I hope you can understand a little."
