The 2nd mini-album in Japan "SAKU" is his first solo Japanese work in about three years. This mini-album was produced with the concept of the Japanese word for "blooming (flowers)," and each of the five songs tells a story related to flowers, creating a refreshing and relaxing atmosphere like a bouquet from Onew. The title track "Like a Flower" conveys warmth and a sense of transience, with lyrics about cherishing memories of meeting important people and wondering if the flowers seen together are still blooming in the listener's heart. The music video for "Like a Flower" depicts Onew's struggles and joys in making flowers bloom, making it feel like watching a short film.
