The new public music awards "KOREA GRAND MUSIC AWARDS (KGMA)" will feature participants from "PROJECT 7" and "Starlight Boys." According to the KGMA organizing committee, participants from the audition programs "PROJECT 7" and "Starlight Boys" will perform on the 16th (Artist Day) at "KGMA." As it is a stage for participants from two audition programs that K-POP fans worldwide are paying attention to, it is expected to attract attention. "PROJECT 7" achieved the remarkable feat of recording the highest initial viewership among Korean content broadcast on Abema in the second half of 2024 within just 1 or 2 episodes, earning a reputation as a globally influential idol audition. The additional lineup "Starlight Boys" is a Korean-Chinese co-produced global audition program showcased on the global platform iQIYI. It has proven its global popularity, surpassing 1.5 million viewers and view counts. Rehearsals are scheduled for the afternoon of the 15th, and there is interest in how they will compete as they meet for the first time during rehearsals. The first KOREA GRAND MUSIC AWARDS will be held over two days, on the 16th and 17th, at the Inspire Arena in Incheon. The 16th will be Artist Day, and the 17th will be Song Day, featuring 32 artists who will present the best stages with a theme of "Birth of the Galaxy" with about 100 songs. On the 16th, NewJeans' Hani and actress Nam Ji-hyun will serve as MCs, with performances from NewJeans, EXO's D.O., TVXQ, BIBI, STAYC, (G)I-DLE, Yong-tak, N.Flying's Yoo Fesung, Lee Mujin, Lee Youngji, Jung Dong-won (JD1), ZEROBASEONE, QWER, SHINee's Taemin, and P1Harmony. On the 17th, aespa's WINTER and actress Nam Ji-hyun will host, featuring NOWADAYS, NiziU, DAY6, RIIZE, Song Gain, aespa, ATEEZ, NCT WISH, (G)I-DLE's Ugi, UNIS, Lee Chang-won, JO1, CLASS:y, TREASURE, and FIFTY FIFTY. KGMA is a stage that selects and awards singers and music that have achieved meaningful results in various categories of popular music, including K-POP, trot, bands, and solo artists, loved by fans both domestically and internationally over the year, and is a festival where artists and fans interact.
