It was found that the prosecution investigating the suspicion of unauthorized departure from the workplace of WINNER's Son Mino, who was serving as a social service worker, specified in the indictment that 'the total number of days of service departure reached 102 days.' According to reports from Korean media today (12th), the Seoul Western District Prosecutor's Office stated, 'While Son Mino was working as a social service worker at the Mapo District facility management corporation and resident benefit facilities, he was absent without permission for a total of 102 days and left service without valid reasons.' The actual number of days he worked as a social service worker is about 430 days. If the prosecution's claims are true, Son Mino has left without permission for about a quarter of the time. The Korean Military Service Act (Article 89-2) stipulates that 'anyone who leaves service for more than 8 days without valid reasons shall be punished with imprisonment for up to 3 years.' According to the indictment, Son Mino's unauthorized service departure increased as his discharge date approached. His service period was from March 24, 2023, to December 23, 2024. According to a crime list prepared by the prosecution, his days of service departure were only 1 day from March to May 2023, but in July 2024, he was absent for a total of 19 days. The prosecution believes that a responsible person, Mr. A, also assisted in Son Mino's departure from work. The indictment states, 'When Son Mino reported that he would not come to work due to oversleeping or fatigue, Mr. A permitted this and subsequently created and approved false documents as if Son Mino had attended work normally.' It is also noted that during this process, Mr. A conspired to handle Son Mino's remaining annual leave and sick leave arbitrarily. The prosecution, which took over the case in May last year, clarified additional unauthorized absence facts that were not included in the criminal facts at the time of referral through supplementary investigations such as mobile phone forensics and GPS record verification. Prior to this, YG ENTERTAINMENT, his agency, explained that the suspicion of Son Mino's service negligence arose because 'the sick leave he took was an extension of treatment he had received before work, and all other leaves were used in accordance with regulations.' The Seoul Western District Court Criminal Division 10 (Judge: Song Jun-kyu) will hold the first trial date for Son Mino and Mr. A, who were indicted on suspicion of violating the Military Service Act, on April 21.
