Irene from Red Velvet, Natty from KISS OF LIFE, and actress Nam Ji-hyun will serve as MCs for the '2nd KOREA GRAND MUSIC AWARDS (2025 KGMA)', announced by the KGMA organizing committee on the 25th. Irene, Natty, and Nam Ji-hyun will host the '2025 KGMA' at Inspire Arena in Incheon, Chung District, on November 14 and 15. On the first day, Irene and Nam Ji-hyun will be MCs, while on the second day, it will be Natty and Nam Ji-hyun. Notably, Nam Ji-hyun has been selected as an MC for two consecutive years, leading the award ceremony both days this year. The KGMA organizing committee stated, 'Last year, KGMA successfully took its first step as a new era and new music awards ceremony, and this year we have chosen artists who symbolize K-POP and K-POP fandom as MCs.' They added, 'Irene, Natty, and Nam Ji-hyun are set to guide K-POP artists and fans through the 'K-POP Dream' beautifully over the two days.' Irene debuted as Red Velvet in August 2014 and has been active with various songs such as 'Ice Cream Cake', 'Red Flavor', 'Psycho', 'Peek-A-Boo', 'Russian Roulette', 'Bad Boy', 'Queendom', and 'Feel My Rhythm'. Known for her beautiful looks and intelligent aura, she has also performed as a unit with Seulgi. Last November, she released her first solo album, showcasing her unique musical color. Natty debuted with KISS OF LIFE in July 2023 and has been loved for songs like 'Shhh', 'Bad News', 'Igloo', 'Midas Touch', 'Sticky', and 'Lips Hips Kiss'. Originally from Thailand, she gained recognition from JYP's girl group audition program 'SIXTEEN' before debuting and has been active as a solo artist, receiving much support for her intense performances. Nam Ji-hyun received praise for her stable hosting abilities at the '2024 KGMA' and will continue as an MC for the '2025 KGMA'. Attention is drawn to how she will showcase chemistry with Irene and Natty this year, after collaborating with NewJeans' Hani and aespa's Winter last year. KGMA is an award ceremony established by the daily sports media outlet Nikkan Sports to present a new paradigm in the Korean popular music scene, with the first ceremony held on November 16 and 17 last year. At the inaugural ceremony, six groups, including aespa, New Jeans, DAY6, (G)I-DLE, ATEEZ, and ZEROBASEONE, received the prestigious 2024 Grand Trophy and celebrated their achievements. The '2025 KGMA' will honor singers and music that have achieved significant results in various fields of popular music, including K-POP and trot, receiving great love from fans both domestically and internationally over the past year, creating a vibrant atmosphere where artists and fans come together. It is hosted by Nikkan Sports and organized by the KGMA organizing committee. The artist lineup, award categories, and judging criteria will be gradually announced through the website and the voting app FANCAST.
