BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) will expand the entire area of Seoul into a huge cultural experience space. In commemoration of the release of their 5th full album 'ARIRANG', another large project has been announced following the comeback live held at Gwanghwamun Square. Today (the 6th), according to BIGHIT MUSIC, 'BTS THE CITY ARIRANG SEOUL' will take place from March 20 to April 12. Experience-based content combining music and media, along with installations harmonizing with the urban landscape, will unfold throughout Seoul. On the day of the new album release (March 20), major landmarks representing Seoul, such as Sungnyemun and Namsan Tower (formerly known as Seoul Tower), will be adorned with media facades. By adding modern media expressions to cultural heritage like Sungnyemun, a symbolic scene where tradition and the present coexist will be completed. This is expected to serve as an opportunity to re-illuminate the value of Korea's cultural heritage to the world. At Yeouido Hangang Park, a lounge-type program for sharing and enjoying BTS's music will be prepared until the 22nd of the same month. Throughout April, the stone walls, stairs, and street trees in downtown Seoul will be decorated as exhibition spaces. BTS's lyrics will be expressed through media productions utilizing light and video. BIGHIT MUSIC stated, 'During the period of 'THE CITY', we have structured programs in collaboration with the city of Seoul so that all tourists and citizens visiting Seoul can experience culture and art in a new format and enjoy BTS's comeback in a three-dimensional way,' and added, 'There will also be partnership events in various fields such as F&B and mobility, so please look forward to it.' In April 2022, BTS received a warm response for showcasing 'BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE THE CITY - LAS VEGAS' in Las Vegas and 'BTS THE CITY in BUSAN' in Busan that same October. 'THE CITY' is an urban play park that offers diverse enjoyment and events throughout the city, providing an expanded experience. Detailed schedules and program information for 'THE CITY' will be released later through the BTS channel on Weverse. 'BTS THE CITY ARIRANG' is planned to start in Seoul and expand sequentially to major cities around the world.
