
Wendy from Red Velvet, Jaehyun from NCT, and Wooyoung from ATEEZ will appear as first pitch throwers for the Korean national team at the 2026 World Baseball Classic. Today (2nd), World Baseball Classic Inc. (WBCI) announced that K-POP stars will appear as special first pitch throwers to support the Korean baseball team during the 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC) held at Tokyo Dome from March 5 to 10. The Korean team will play matches against the Czech Republic on March 5, Japan on the 7th, Chinese Taipei on the 8th, and Australia on the 9th, with K-POP artists participating as first pitch throwers in three of these matches. Wendy from Red Velvet, who will throw the first pitch in the match against the Czech Republic, said, 'I am truly honored to throw the first pitch on such a global stage,' and added, 'It is even more meaningful to support the Korean team at the World Baseball Classic, and I hope my first pitch can convey positive energy and good luck to the players. I will cheer for Korea's wonderful victory together with fans around the world.' Next, Jaehyun from NCT will take the mound before the match against Chinese Taipei. Jaehyun is known not only for his music activities but also as the MC of MLB Korea's baseball talk program 'Major League Talk,' where he engages in deep discussions about baseball with Kim Byung-hyun, Dustin Nippert, and Kim Sonu. Jaehyun stated, 'Through Major League Talk, I have come to deeply understand the strategies, tension, and passion of baseball,' and expressed, 'It is very meaningful to be able to share the experience of the Korean team's match at the World Baseball Classic, and I expect an unforgettable match while cheering louder than anyone else.' Finally, Wooyoung from ATEEZ will throw the first pitch in the last match against Australia. Wooyoung shared, 'I am both happy and nervous to throw the first pitch in front of the national team players,' and said, 'It is a great honor to support the Korean team on the world stage. I want to convey strong positive energy and contribute to winning the last qualifying match.'

Former NCT member Mark has raised anticipation for his comeback by releasing a short film and teaser images for “My Friend,” a medium-tempo pop song about the end of summer and moving into a new chapter. He also took part in writing, composing, and arranging the track, and revealed a new Kids-Pop project.
