As the popular Korean military series “New Recruit” expands its territory to the screen, it has been revealed that TWICE’s Jeongyeon will appear in it. Today (the 1st), the film “New Recruit The Movie: A Ghost Lives in the Military Hospital” (director: Min Jin-gi) released a launch poster and announced that it will be released in Korean theaters this winter. “New Recruit The Movie: A Ghost Lives in the Military Hospital” depicts the story of new recruits who are hospitalized in a military hospital dreaming of a sweet rest, facing the terrifying rumors of the military hospital they believed was heaven, and uncovering its secrets. It is a work that newly expands to the screen the worldview of the drama “New Recruit,” which was loved for its hyper-realistic episodes and distinctive characters. In particular, Jeongyeon is drawing attention for appearing in this work as Nurse Officer Yoo Jeong-yeon. As this is her first challenge in a film through this work, she is expected to show a new side of herself that has not been seen before. Last month, Jeongyeon revealed in a handwritten letter that she would leave JYP Entertainment, where she had been since her trainee days. After that, she established a new base at VARO Entertainment, where her older sister Gong Seung-yeon belongs, and is embarking on a challenge as an actress. In addition, Ryu Kyung-soo plays the role of the mysterious soldier Yoo Jae-hoon, who is hospitalized in the military hospital, and is newly joining the “New Recruit universe.” Many familiar “New Recruit” members who led the hit of the existing series, including Kim Min-ho, Nam Tae-woo, Kim Yo-han, Lee Jeong-hyeon, Jeong Seung-hoon, and Kim Hyeon-gyu, who played Park Min-seok, are expected to appear and show outstanding chemistry. Director Min Jin-gi, who recently updated the season’s highest viewership rating with the drama “New Recruit 4: Sabotage,” which recently finished airing in Korea and received praise as the best “military content,” once again took the megaphone and completed a horror comedy with a unique scale that is only possible in a film. In the released launch poster, the “New Recruit” members standing against the backdrop of the National Armed Forces Yangcheon Hospital and Park Min-seok with a meaningful expression are included, foreshadowing a bigger story and unpredictable developments unfolding in the military hospital after leaving the unit. The film “New Recruit The Movie: A Ghost Lives in the Military Hospital” will be released in Korean theaters this winter. • TWICE Jeongyeon, reports draw attention over acting debut in “New Recruit: The Movie”? • TWICE Jeongyeon releases new profile photos!
