HYBE's CEO Lee Jae-sang has been selected as a professional member of the American 'Recording Academy,' following Chairman Bang Si-hyuk and BTS. Established in 1957, the Recording Academy represents voices of music industry professionals such as artists, songwriters, producers, and engineers, and has been overseeing the 'Grammy Awards' since 1959. Each year, they accept membership applications from artists and industry professionals, selecting new members through evaluation. The professional members, including general producers, journalists, music university professors, and high-ranking label officials, must have recognized careers and expertise in the music industry. Professional members are granted the authority to submit Grammy-nominated works and propose revisions to Grammy regulations. He has played a central role in expanding K-POP's influence in the global market. Joining BIGHIT Entertainment in 2018, Lee has served as HYBE's Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and as the representative in the U.S., leading numerous strategic investments and global business expansions, including the acquisition of U.S. media company Issaca Holdings. He became HYBE's CEO last September and is leading the company's new growth strategy, 'HYBE 2.0.' In May of this year, he was selected as one of the '2025 Billboard Global Power Players' alongside Bang Si-hyuk and HYBE Latin America CEO Ka Jong-hyun. Last month, 16 HYBE artists and producers, including BUMZU, SEVENTEEN's Woozi & Vernon, TOMORROW X TOGETHER's Yeonjun, ENHYPEN's Jungwon, LE SSERAFIM's Ho Yunjin, KASEYE, and producers Slow Rabbit, Supreme Boi, and Wonderkid, were chosen as new voting members of the Recording Academy. Prior to this, Chairman Bang Si-hyuk and the seven members of BTS, along with producer Pdogg, were registered as voting members. Voting members are granted the right to vote for Grammy Award winners.
