SBS announced the return of a crime suspense drama. The production team of SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Connection" scheduled to air in May in Korea (written by Lee Hyung, directed by Kim Moon Gyo) today (18th) revealed the script reading scene with the main cast including Choi Tae Joon, Jung Min Do, Kwon Yul, Kim Kyung Nam, and Jung Sung Hwan. "Connection" is a suspense drama with the ace detective of the drug team forcibly turned into a drug addict by someone as the main character. It will uncover the unique friendship and connections surrounding it that have lasted for 20 years, starting with the clue of a friend's death. The drama is already attracting attention as a crime investigation drama that throws heavy themes with a unique setting. Written by Lee Hyung, who evoked viewers' empathy in "Prosecutor Rhapsody - The Lovely Days of You and Me," and directed by Kim Moon Gyo, who was praised for his inspirational directing in "Wheels," the new work is also a hot topic. The script reading started with Choi Tae Joon's call of "Let's make a really interesting drama!" The cast members participated in the reading with enthusiasm, raising expectations for the drama. Choi Tae Joon plays Detective Chief Chang Jae Kyung of the drug team, who has gained tremendous trust within the police force regardless of seniority or juniority. He exuded an extraordinary aura every time he read his lines at the reading. In the scene where he faces the criminal, he gives a sense of reality with irregular breathing, hinting at an impressive performance. On the other hand, Jung Min Do, who plays the justice-filled journalist Oh Yoon Jin of the Economic Daily, seemed to have already grasped the character's image at the reading. At times, she raised her voice and incorporated a cheeky tone, exuding a strong presence as a character leading the story. Kwon Yul, who plays Prosecutor Park Tae Jin, has completely transformed his lively image shown on variety shows. He perfectly depicted the sharp and cold prosecutor nicknamed "Brain" by those around him. Kim Kyung Nam, who plays Vice Chairman Won Jong Soo of Kumhyung Group, is also expected to update the "best villain" through "Connection." He delicately expresses an overwhelming presence and impatient personality, heralding the birth of a new villain. Jung Sung Hwan, who plays the representative Ho Ju Sung of Two Star Holdings, beautifully expressed a humane side in the tense story. The production team of "Connection" stated, "A drama that combines artistic quality, topicality, and message. Through the script reading, we are confident that 'Connection' will pioneer a new era for SBS Friday-Saturday dramas. Please look forward to the start of the broadcast in May."
