Music platform MelOn has announced the lineup of nominees for the TOP10 award at the "MMA2023 (MelOn Music Awards)" held on December 2nd at Inspire Arena in Incheon, South Korea, which will be livestreamed for free on ABEMA in Japan. The TOP10 nominees include a total of 30 artists, including (G)I-DLE, who caused a global syndrome with "Queencard," Park Jeong, who released her first regular album in 10 years, the unit Busokseung consisting of SEVENTEEN's Seungkwan, Dokyeom, and Hoshi, SEVENTEEN, who have been recording career highs one after another, Im Youngwoong, who has gained nationwide popularity, NCT 127, who showed unique wild beauty in "Ay-Yo," and NCT DREAM, who uniquely remade H.O.T.'s hit song "Candy" to match their group color. As solo artists, BTS members Jungkook, Jimin, SUGA, who have shown worldwide success with their solo albums, are also among the TOP10 candidates. Additionally, SOL of BIGBANG, who achieved a historic collaboration with Jimin in "VIBE (feat. Jimin of BTS)," and Jisoo of BLACKPINK, who garnered attention with her distinctive performance in "FLOWER," are included. Furthermore, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, who received explosive reactions with "Sugar Rush Ride," aespa, who achieved 1st place on the MelOn Chart TOP100 with "Spicy," AKMU, who is widely loved with "Love Lee," and BIG Naughty, who proved their unchanged music power with "Hopeless Romantic (feat. Lee Suhyun)," have ranked as TOP10 candidates. In addition, the fourth-generation girl groups that have been attracting attention, such as FIFTY FIFTY, who achieved an unprecedented and miraculous chart reversal and gained attention from fans worldwide, IVE, who tops the charts with every comeback, LE SSERAFIM, who continues to chart for a long period of time supported by global popularity, NewJeans, who achieved a double crown at "MMA2022" and quickly rose to the top girl group, and NMIXX, who shows strong growth with high performance skills in all areas as a rookie, and STAYC, who receives a hot response with their teen fresh concept, have also appeared. Following them are Im Hanbyul, who rose to the top of the MelOn Daily Ballad Chart with "Because I Don't Love You," Gia, who sang the answer song to this song, and Ho Gak, whose poignant sensibility stands out, as well as Shin Ye Young, who reinterpreted Song Ha Ye and Park Ki Young's ballads in "Since I Knew You," Woody, who transformed 4Men's music into his own style in "Say I Love You," and DK (December), who remade the legendary song of Emerald Castle, a male karaoke favorite, in "Step," among many other remake songs that catch the eye. NMIXX has officially confirmed a comeback after about five months with its 6th mini album, Strange Muse. The album includes six songs, led by the title track Birthday Wish, and features the group’s first unit songs. Members also took part in writing and composing, and the album will be released on October 19. The group will then hold an encore concert in Incheon in late November to conclude its first world tour.
SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan and Joshua have begun the countdown to their comeback with the promotion schedule for their first mini album, DREAMSCAPE. The rollout includes teasers, tracklist, highlight medley, and trailers before the album and title MV drop on October 19.
