EDAM Entertainment stated today (11th) through an official comment, "We will discuss the status of criminal complaints for 2023 and 2024," and explained, "Our company and the law firm have selected serious cases that meet the criteria for crimes among acts such as threats and insults against the artist, dissemination of malicious false facts, unfounded plagiarism allegations leading to defamation, threats of murder and invasion of privacy, sexual harassment, distribution of obscene materials, production and distribution of deepfakes (content synthesized using AI photos and videos), and other illegal information dissemination. As of now, there are over 180 defendants, and we are continuing to proceed with additional complaints." They revealed, "So far, there have been six fines (previous summary dispositions), three suspended prosecutions with educational conditions, and one suspended prosecution with probation conditions." Furthermore, they stated, "We have secured personal information about some individuals who committed illegal acts using overseas servers or are believed to reside overseas. Among them, there are individuals presumed to be IU's middle school classmates, and we have confirmed that they continue to harass IU despite ongoing related cases, and we are currently addressing this."
