It has become clear that a Japanese woman in her 50s, who was unconscious, died due to a fire that occurred at a capsule hotel in central Seoul. The fire broke out around 6 PM on the 14th of this month, near the bustling area of Myeongdong in central Seoul. Ten people were injured, including a Japanese mother and child, with the mother in critical condition and unconscious. She was receiving treatment at the hospital but passed away on the 24th. According to police and others, it was confirmed that life support was discontinued at the family's request. In response to the fire, the South Korean government conducted emergency fire safety inspections of all accommodations in Seoul from the 16th to the 19th.
