The 'Popular Culture Arts Award' is the highest government award in the field of popular culture arts, given to individuals and organizations that have contributed to the spread of Korean Wave culture and industrial development. The 'Production Staff Award' is the only award in the country aimed at production teams, celebrating the hidden stars of the field together with the public. The 'Production Staff Award' will recognize representatives from the production teams of hit dramas such as 'Otsukaresama', 'Jungnyun: Star Birth', 'My Daughter Became a Zombie', and 'Squid Game'. The 'Popular Culture Arts Award' will present the highest government honors such as the Cultural Medal, Presidential Award, Prime Minister's Award, and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award. This year, individuals representing Korea in various fields such as drama, film, voice acting, comedians, K-POP idols, and dancers have been selected. The Cultural Medal is considered the highest honor awarded by the Korean government, with past recipients including PSY and BTS. The Cultural Medal for artistic contributions has been awarded to actor Kim Hae-sook (Silver Crown Cultural Medal), actors Lee Byung-hun and Jeong Dong-hwan (Treasure Crown Cultural Medal), and voice actor Bae Han-sung, late comedian Jeong Yu-seon, and BIGBANG's G-DRAGON (Jewel Crown Cultural Medal). The Presidential Award has been given to Kim Mi-kyung, Lee Min-ho, Lee Jung-eun, TVXQ, BLACKPINK's Rosé, SEVENTEEN, and voice actor Kim Woo-nyung, totaling seven groups. The Prime Minister's Award recipients include Kim Ji-won, Kim Tae-ri, Park Bo-young, Park Hae-joon, Joo Ji-hoon, ATEEZ, TWICE, and performer Choi Hee-sun, totaling eight groups. The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award has been awarded to Ko Yoon-jung, Byung Woo-seok, Ji Chang-wook, Joo Young-woo, RIIZE, LE SSERAFIM, IVE, ZEROBASEONE, comedian Lee Su-ji, and dancer BEBE, totaling ten teams. A policy official from the Ministry of Culture stated, 'This year's award ceremony carries the message of being 'one festival that illuminates both before and after the stage', and aims to celebrate the achievements of 'K-content' while sharing the sweat and efforts of the production teams with the public, creating a stage where popular culture artists and production teams can shine together in the future.'
