KBS expressed its position regarding the cancellation of the 'Music Bank in Madrid' performance. Yesterday (19th), the production team of KBS 'Music Bank' reported through an official comment that 'on September 13, Real Madrid C.F. and Estadio Santiago Bernabeu announced that due to ongoing noise issues raised by residents around the concert venue, all music performances scheduled to be held at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu until March 2025 would be canceled.' The production team expressed discomfort, stating, 'Until this content was reported through local media, Real Madrid did not make any official requests or prior consultations with the local organizers KANGOORU, S.L., KOREAN POWER, A.I.E, or the Korean organizer KBS 'Music Bank' regarding the cancellation of the performance scheduled for October 12, 2024, at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. This is a very shocking and incomprehensible situation.' They continued, stating that fans are gathering signatures for the performance to be held, and 'there are ongoing requests from K-POP artists who were scheduled to perform to confirm the reports of the cancellation. If the performance is canceled, it is expected that the eight teams of K-POP artists who have been preparing hard to meet their fans in Spain after a nearly 20-hour journey from Korea will be very disappointed.' The production team also expressed regret over Real Madrid and Estadio Santiago Bernabeu's unilateral cancellation of the performance, stating that they cannot accept the club's arbitrary decision made without any prior consultation and demand an official explanation and apology from Real Madrid. They emphasized that they demand an official explanation and apology for the disappointment caused to the tens of thousands of K-POP fans and the K-POP artists who had given up other schedules to meet their fans in Spain due to the cancellation. Furthermore, they strongly demand that Real Madrid fulfill its moral and financial responsibilities for the damages caused to K-POP fans and artists who invested precious time and money to see the performance, and that Real Madrid must also bear responsibility for damaging the brand image of the 'Music Bank World Tour' created by the love and efforts of K-POP fans worldwide over the past 15 years. Finally, the production team strongly requests to work together to resume the 'Music Bank in Madrid' performance. The production team of 'Music Bank' has the ability and will to make every effort to not disappoint K-POP fans waiting for the performance, including adjusting (or shortening) the performance time and minimizing noise around the venue. They added that they are willing to negotiate with any requests from the Madrid authorities and Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and will prepare measures to avoid inconveniencing the residents around the venue together with the local organizers and tens of thousands of K-POP fans. The production team expresses heartfelt gratitude to the fans in Madrid and Spain who have supported and waited for the 'Music Bank in Madrid' performance, as well as to K-POP fans from 87 countries worldwide, and prays for smooth final negotiations with Real Madrid so that the dream stage of K-POP fans can be presented.
