A warm and exciting family is coming. Today (8th), at the Ramada Hotel in Shindorim, Guro District, Seoul, a production presentation for JTBC's new Wednesday drama 'Assembled Family' was held, attended by director Kim Seung-ho and actors Hwang In-yeop, DIA's Chae-yeon, Bae Hyun-sung, Choi Won-young, and Choi Moo-sung. The work depicts a youth romance story about three men and women who are not blood-related but have spent their teenage years together as family, reuniting after ten years. It is a remake of the Chinese drama 'In the Name of Family'. On this day, director Kim Seung-ho explained, 'The story depicts three children with different circumstances who spent ten years as a family with two fathers, then became separated and lived their own lives, reuniting after ten years. Although the Chinese drama is the original, I believe the family story can resonate with people around the world. We aim for 100% synchronization with the original while reflecting Korean lifestyle culture and emphasizing the charm of the actors.' Hwang In-yeop drew attention by revealing, 'It's true that I always feel like it's the last time when I wear a school uniform.' He added, 'I don't think there's any reason to dislike wearing a uniform for the work. Since Chae-yeon and Bae Hyun-sung are in their twenties, they looked like high school students. I thought I just had to do my best.' He expressed his hope that the message would be conveyed well. Regarding the chemistry with the two, he shared, 'We met personally before filming. All three of us are 'super introverted', so it was awkward at first, but we quickly became close since we had many scenes together. We even went to an amusement park together and plan to have dinner together today.' Chae-yeon revealed, 'We had so much fun filming,' and said, 'Although the five of us are not a real family, we always ate together. That was warmer than any scene. I was attracted to the different family forms and love stories. It might be shocking, but the part where family develops into a couple stimulates excitement.' Choi Won-young stated, 'Choi Moo-sung and I take care of the children until they grow up. I think the children's meals are important, so there are many cooking scenes in the drama. It's a warm and ordinary daily life, so there's no stimulating taste, but it feels like our lives.' Choi Moo-sung explained, 'There are such kind people that you think, 'Are there really such good people?' That is the charm of this work.' Bae Hyun-sung also said, 'With the everyday theme of family, the process of healing each other's wounds and growing was good.' 'Assembled Family' will start airing in Korea on the 9th at 8:50 PM and will be exclusively streamed in Japan on U-NEXT from the same day.
