(G)I-DLE's Soyeon revealed the secret story of debuting with a self-composed song. On the 30th, Soyeon appeared as a guest on the 99th episode of KBS Kpop's web variety show "Limousine Service." Lee Moojin asked, "What was the reaction of the members when you were told you would debut with a self-composed song?" Soyeon replied, "Actually, I recorded several songs that I received, but I had a lot of discussions with the members about 'It's tough. We shouldn't debut with this kind of song.'" Soyeon said, "When I listened to the songs I received, they seemed like songs written by people who didn't know us, and there were many songs that gave the impression that we had to fit ourselves to the songs." She continued, "So I said to the members, 'This won't do. Let's write our own songs,' and everyone was very happy. When we voted at the agency, the members supported me." She also said, "Actually, there were a lot of things like this at the beginning of our debut. I think the agency didn't trust me because I was a rookie. I hadn't debuted as a rookie, and I hadn't released many self-composed songs, so naturally, I didn't trust myself at the time. So I think the agency also didn't have confidence in whether it was good to do it with my own songs." She added, "There were really many times when it seemed like it would be another song, but every time the members supported my song. I'm really grateful." Lee Moojin also said, "It overlaps with my past a lot. I also pushed through to the end and decided to release 'Traffic light.' And at that time, the A&R team leader retired." Soyeon also said, "Our A&R team leader retired after that," and caused laughter.
