Special quasi-rape is established when two or more people engage in sexual intercourse with a person who is in a state of inability to resist, such as being in possession of a weapon or losing mental or physical faculties. If the allegations are recognized, he could face over 7 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment under South Korea's special law regarding sexual violence crimes. According to reports, Tail was charged on June 13 after the victim reported the incident. Amid this, it became clear that Tail had conducted a live stream the day after being charged. On June 14, celebrating his birthday, he held a live stream where he expressed gratitude to fans, saying, 'Thank you for celebrating my birthday. Prior to this, on August 28, SM Entertainment reported that Tail had been accused of sexual crimes. The agency stated through an official comment, 'We have recently confirmed the fact that Tail has been accused in a criminal case regarding sexual crimes. We were aware of the facts and recognized that the case is quite serious, leading us to determine that he could no longer continue group activities. After discussions with Tail, we decided on his departure from the group.'
