NCT’s Taeyong and ALLDAY PROJECT’s Bailey will appear on Mnet’s 'STREET WORLD FIGHTER: Directors' War.' In the fifth episode of Mnet’s 'STREET WORLD FIGHTER: Directors' War,' which airs in Korea today (the 15th) at 10 p.m., the 'solo artist director' mission will begin in earnest. It is a mission to interpret the music, concept, and character based on new songs by K-pop artists active on the world stage, and to complete a performance suitable for an actual promotional stage. This week, Taeyong and Bailey will each appear as the protagonists of new songs and present special collaborations with choreographers. Prior to this, in 'STREET WORLD FIGHTER: Directors' War – LAST STAGE: 24H,' released through TVING on the 12th, RENAN and HASH were eliminated, and Jeong Min-jun dramatically survived with a stage inspired by the film 'Ode to My Father.' As a result, the eight surviving choreographers will be in charge of directing Taeyong and Bailey’s new-song performances through the first-ever 2-on-2 duet battle. In particular, since the team that loses this battle will be forced to go to 'LAST STAGE: 24H,' even fiercer competition is expected. Beyond simply creating choreography, they must accurately read the artist’s music and personality and design the performance that will shine most brightly on stage, so the choreographers’ abilities are expected to be fully displayed. Above all, the significance is exceptional in that the results of the 'solo artist direction' mission are actually connected to the artists’ official promotional stages. It will be a highlight to see from what perspective Taeyong and Bailey, who are preparing for new transformations as solo artists, will view their own music and how they will complete the performance with the choreographers. Taeyong also found special meaning in the process of creating the new-song performance together with the choreographers. Ahead of his comeback, he said, 'There are people I have worked with before, friends I have danced with for a long time, and seniors who created the opportunity for me to start liking dance,' and added, 'Just the fact that I was able to create a stage together with such wonderful people using a song I made was a very happy and fun experience.' For Bailey, who came from the world-famous dance crew KINJAZ and has worked as a dancer and choreographer, this mission was also special. She said, 'I am truly honored. I was sincerely excited to look back on my roots and connect with the dance community,' and explained, 'Dance was my first language. I first worked as a dancer, then as a choreographer, and I have always thought through movement; after becoming an artist, my relationship with dance naturally expanded.' She continued, 'It was special because my side as a dancer and choreographer, and my current side as an artist, seemed to meet in one space through 'STREET WORLD FIGHTER: Directors' War.' It felt like the moment when one cycle was completed, and I also felt a great sense of release.' Expectations are rising for what kind of image Bailey, who has built her identity through dance for a long time, will show as an artist through this stage. During the direction process, what Taeyong valued most was how effectively the lyrics and energy of the new song could be conveyed through the performance. He said that he focused on 'how well the lyrics and energy of the new song are conveyed through the performance,' and explained, 'Because it is a powerful song, I wanted to show my strong energy, and I hoped that everyone would continue to enjoy the production process with my energy.' Bailey recalled the moment she first saw the completed performance and said, 'What surprised me the most was what kind of version of myself naturally emerged within me.' She then said about standing on stage as 'artist Bailey' beyond dancer and choreographer, 'It was good to look a little more deeply at what kind of person I am and what kind of artist I can become,' and added, 'Above all, it was a very educational experience because I kept receiving new creative stimulation.' Attention is focused on what kind of stage the two artists, each with a distinct musical color and performance identity, will create through the direction of the choreographers on 'STREET WORLD FIGHTER: Directors' War,' and who will advance to the next round in this process. • NCT’s Taeyong visits a multicultural school!
