SEVENTEEN’s Jun is embarking on another transformation as a solo artist through his first Chinese EP, “9.” Today (the 24th), his agency Pledis Entertainment released a teaser video and announced Jun’s new musical activities. “9” was born inspired by the Chinese folk legend “Nine-Life Cat Demon,” in which a cat gains eternal life by undergoing training and obtaining nine tails. Like a cat that adds one tail at a time, it captures the process of sequentially experiencing unfamiliar emotions and, while fully accepting them, completing one’s true self. The title “9” also has meaning. In East Asian culture, “9” shares its sound with the Chinese character “久,” which symbolizes eternity, and it contains the meaning of approaching completion through the accumulation of long time and repeated training. Based on this, Jun delivers the message that the process of not avoiding, but accepting as they are, the various emotions one faces in relationships with others can ultimately become a path to growing oneself. Because it is not merely a number, but contains the meaning of growth and completion, attention is being drawn to how Jun’s unique musical story will unfold. The teaser video released this time also visually expressed the worldview of “9” and caught the eye. In the video, various objects with the motif of the number “9” appeared inside a swaying glass orb, stimulating curiosity. After that, the space transformed as if being sucked into a new world, creating a mysterious atmosphere and giving an immersive feeling.

SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan and Joshua are forming a new unit and will release their first mini album, “DREAMSCAPE,” on the 19th of next month. The album explores a dream world where fantasy and reality intersect and clash. Pledis says it will depict a new sensory world through music.
On a YouTube talk show, EXO’s Suho, SECHSKIES’ Eun Ji-won, SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups, and BOYNEXTDOOR’s Jaehyun discussed leadership. S.Coups talked about Dino’s struggles as the youngest member, and Eun Ji-won praised SEVENTEEN’s 13-member teamwork. SEVENTEEN’s Jun has been cast as the lead, Su Cheng, in the Chinese film Rebirth 2, set for release in China on October 3. He plays a man searching across China for his missing younger brother, and will show both delicate emotional acting and action scenes. The film follows two people uncovering a huge conspiracy involving a criminal organization and seeking revenge. Jun stars alongside Isabella Leong, Sammo Hung, and Bai Ke. He has also been active in China through the Silk Road International Film Festival and a nomination for the Hundred Flowers Award.
SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan revealed that he had serious health problems during his military service. He said his stomach and intestines became very bad, causing him to lose 13 kg and drop to 53 kg before he began exercising. He also joked with Na Young-seok and blamed Mingyu.
On the afternoon of the 16th, a VIP screening of the film “Tazza: Song of Beelzebub” was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul.
