Former NCT member Mark is heightening expectations for his comeback by releasing part of the source audio for his new song “My Friend” and teaser images. Mark recently released a short film video of himself singing the new song under warm sunlight through the official SNS of his agency, Upper Room. This video, which eliminated flashy production and focused only on the voice, lyrics, and emotion, perfectly expresses “Back to Basic.” The teaser images released afterward also clearly conveyed the song’s gentle mood through simple styling harmonized with natural light in various backgrounds such as grasslands, cities, and burning nights. “My Friend,” to be released at 1 p.m. on the 10th, is a medium-tempo pop song for people who ask themselves at the end of summer, “What kind of love is the best love?” Over a refreshing guitar loop, a cool atmosphere is layered, depicting the moment of moving toward a new chapter after passing through one season. In particular, Mark participated not only in the lyrics but also in the composition and arrangement, demonstrating his ability as a multi-singer-songwriter. Along with this, Mark’s new project is also being unveiled and drawing attention. The teaser video for “Mark Lee & Kids-POP,” recently released on a YouTube channel, contained scenes of him interacting with children and gaining new inspiration. In this video, Mark seriously said, “When I think about what I should do as an artist and what music I most want to express, I want to do music that can influence even the next generation.” He also revealed about his challenge to Kids-Pop, “It matched my dream, and I became greedy and it became something I wanted to accomplish,” and expectations are rising for the diverse musical attempts he will show in the future.
