BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) won the grand prize at the American Music Awards. On the 25th (local time), at the American Music Awards (AMAs) held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, BTS received the 'Artist of the Year' award. They were the first Korean artists to win this award in 2021, and after all members completed military service, they returned to shine once again as 'Artist of the Year' after five years. BTS expressed their gratitude to ARMY (the name of their fans), saying, 'Thank you. It is an honor to receive this important award again after all members have completed military service. We have always been grateful to ARMY for these 13 years.' They added, 'We were overwhelmed by the love for the album. Thank you for loving all the songs.' They also expressed in Korean, 'Thank you to all the ARMY who support and love us. We love you,' which brought tears. Prior to this, BTS was nominated in three categories: 'Artist of the Year,' 'Best Male K-Pop Artist,' and 'Song of the Summer.' In addition to 'Artist of the Year,' they also won 'Song of the Summer' and 'Best Male K-Pop Artist.'
