Today (26th), the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify posted on its official SNS titled 'The BTS Effect'. According to Spotify, after the release of the 5th full album 'ARIRANG' on March 20, the number of users who listened to BTS's songs for the first time on the platform increased by over 690%. This shows that they are making their presence known to a wider global audience beyond their existing fan base. There has been a succession of positive reviews for the new song both domestically and internationally, and it is analyzed that listeners outside of the fanbase have begun to actively listen to BTS's music. The title track 'SWIM' recorded 14,644,352 streams on Spotify on its release day. This is equivalent to 1.3 times and 1.9 times the numbers of the group's mega-hit songs 'Butter' and 'Dynamite', respectively. This result demonstrates the impact of the new song released after about 3 years and 9 months. Not only the title track but also the album's songs are gaining high popularity worldwide. After the release of the 5th full album 'ARIRANG', the number of times the songs from 'ARIRANG' were added to personal playlists reached 11.7 million. Furthermore, BTS ranked a total of 260 times in the 'Daily Top Songs', 'Daily Top Artists', and 'Top 50' charts in multiple countries and regions just in the first week of release. Additionally, based on the chart dated March 20, they secured the top position in the 'Daily Top Artists' in 70 countries and regions. Recently, the buzz surrounding the 'BTS COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG' held around Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul was also prominently reflected in the charts. Right after the performance, the album's streaming numbers surged by about 120%. The past song 'Mikrokosmos' performed at the concert recorded a 250% increase in streams compared to the previous day in South Korea, attracting attention. 'The BTS Effect' is also confirmed in Korea's major charts. According to the Circle Chart announcement on the 26th, 'ARIRANG' achieved first place in the album chart, retail album chart, download chart, V coloring chart, and social chart 3.0 for the 12th week (counting period: March 15-21), achieving a total of five crowns.
