SHINee’s Minho bowed his head over the controversy regarding fairness in a marathon event. Minho apologized through his SNS today (the 3rd), saying, “I am sorry for disappointing many people in the marathon I participated in on November 1. This all happened because of my own immaturity, and as someone who values and loves sports, I am filled with shame.” He continued, “So that the same thing never happens again, I will pay even more attention and work hard to always show a good side of myself. As for this marathon result, I myself do not accept it, and I will never forget what I learned in this process,” thereby admitting his own disqualification. On top of that, he added, “I express my respect to all the runners who are shedding so much sweat and making such efforts.” Previously, on the 1st, Minho completed the full 42.195 km course in 3 hours 00 minutes 18 seconds at the “2026 JTBC Seoul Marathon.” Immediately after the event, Minho posted on his SNS, “Sub-3 failed... 18 seconds... still, a very valuable experience. The reason life is a marathon,” sharing his thoughts. “Sub-3” means completing a full marathon in under 3 hours. Although he failed in his challenge for sub-3, he surprised those around him by setting a time of 3 hours 00 minutes 18 seconds on his first attempt. However, a video was later released online showing Minho receiving physical help from a pacemaker during the marathon, which caused controversy.
