On Wednesday, August 26, RIIZE released their Japanese 3rd single “Sunburst” and held a release commemorative showcase at Zepp Namba in Osaka. 1,000 people selected by lottery from among CD pre-order purchasers were invited, and the event was also livestreamed on YouTube. They entertained BRIIZE (the fans’ name) with live performances and talk, and spent a special time together. After an opening video using the “Sunburst” music video, which had just been released at midnight that day, RIIZE appeared on stage. The event started with a performance of “Lucky.” The members sang and danced while occasionally showing smiles to the bright, sparkling sound. In an instant, the venue was wrapped in a warm atmosphere. “Good evening! We are RIIZE,” the members greeted in unison. After that, they held a talk corner with the MC duo Dorianzu. First, they carried out a quiz project to dig deeper into the “Sunburst” music video. Because it is a dance number with striking summer freshness and energy, the music video was filmed over two days in places where the nature of Korea could be felt, such as grasslands and a pool that gave a summer feeling. The members answered questions about details of the music video. The first question was, “What color was the truck bed that Sungchan jumped onto?” It seemed like a question favorable to Sungchan, but Sungchan gave a wry smile and said, “I have no memory of it at all.” Since it was a retro-type car, he also revealed behind-the-scenes details: “That day was so hot that the engine would not start properly and the car stopped moving, so we filmed it twice.” However, in the quiz, Sungchan alone among the members answered incorrectly. Shotaro said that the scene was filmed early in the morning, and that Sungchan was working hard while the other members were sleeping, and Anton also looked back and said, “Sungchan really had a hard time then,” supporting Sungchan, who had been in no position to check the color. The second question was, “What was on top of the car Sohee was driving?” In the scene where Shotaro, Wonbin, and Anton push the car driven by Sohee, Anton joked in a way that seemed to tease Sohee, saying, “Sohee’s driving was bad, so he got stuck in a hole (lol). So the three of us, Anton, Wonbin, and Shotaro, helped him.” Even though it was a scene with that kind of setting, Sohee responded, “Actually, I was braking (lol),” making BRIIZE laugh. The third question was, “Who was the first to touch the soccer ball in the grassland scene?” The correct answer was Sohee, but many members answered Sungchan. In fact, on set, Sungchan was the first to touch it and had touched the ball the longest. Because of that, Sungchan said a little sadly, “In the music video, there was not a single scene where I was touching the ball.” The fourth question was, “Who dropped the beach ball while trying to hit it in the pool?” Here, the members successively talked about how very cold it was during filming. It was hot during the day, but the pool scene was filmed at night, so Wonbin said, “My lips turned purple,” and Sohee recalled, “My costume was jeans, and it was the first time I went into a pool while wearing jeans. Then it became very heavy, it was wet and cold, and it was really hard.” They also revealed that after finishing, they ate warm ramen together, and while waiting they gathered around a stove and warmed themselves by pressing close together. The fifth question was, “There is something Sungchan destroyed with a bat. What is its official name?” While there were subtle answers such as “pyumyah” (Shotaro) and “pikanyang” (Wonbin), Sungchan demonstrated by breaking the correct answer, “piñata,” with a bat just like in the music video. Sohee commented, “This is the first time I have felt sorry for a piñata.” The sixth question was, “What is the most memorable scene in the music video?” Anton chose “the pool,” Sungchan, Eunseok, and Sohee chose “the car wash,” and Shotaro and Wonbin chose “Anton shaving his beard.” Shotaro said that when he watched the music video, he learned for the first time that there was a scene of Anton shaving his beard. Anton unexpectedly revealed a private side by saying, “I originally shave like that when I shave my beard. I do not use ice, though (lol).” Also, regarding the car wash scene, Shotaro happily said, “Everyone got heated up and splashed water on each other, and we were soaked from head to toe (lol),” while Eunseok revealed invisible hardships, saying, “I really like the car wash scene, but there was a place next door raising cattle, so there was the smell of cows... (lol).” After talking extensively about “Sunburst,” the topic moved to the coupling track “Rise Over.” Since this song is the theme song for the “SoftBank Winter Cup 2026, the 79th National High School Basketball Championship Tournament for Reiwa 8,” Wonbin said, “We were given the opportunity to be in charge of the theme song, and I learned about the Winter Cup, and I also looked into the players, and I thought they were really cool. Everyone is young and full of passion, and I was really impressed by how hard they are working. I hope this song becomes a source of strength for them, and I hope BRIIZE listens to it a lot and gains strength in the same way.” As the event neared its end, it moved into the live corner. After showing a powerful performance of “All of You,” each member shared their impressions of the event. Eunseok commented, “Today was a short time, but thank you very much for coming to support us. It had been a long time since we did a showcase, and it was really fun. Please look forward to the activities for ‘Sunburst’ as well.” Sungchan said, “We will come back to perform in Japan again, though I do not know which venue yet, so please enjoy with us again then.” At the end, they performed “Sunburst.” While letting the audience hear refreshing vocals perfect for this season, they captivated them with a performance that included light steps. In the chorus, there was also a catchy choreography like shading the sun with their hands, creating a summer memory that remained in BRIIZE’s ears and eyes. After finishing the song, Shotaro appealed, saying, “Since ‘Sunburst’ has been released, I would be happy if everyone listens to it a lot and recommends it to friends and others,” while promising, “We will come back very soon, so I hope that when we meet next time, we can meet again with smiles.” The members waved goodbye to BRIIZE with lingering reluctance and left the stage. RIIZE’s Japanese 3rd single “Sunburst” recorded 213,312 copies on the Oricon Daily Single Ranking dated August 25 and took 2nd place. The momentum of “Sunburst,” which fits perfectly with the atmosphere of summer nearing its end, seems likely to keep accelerating. • RIIZE, Japanese 3rd single “Sunburst” MV released... expectations also high for today’s showcase • RIIZE chosen as the official cheer song for the “SoftBank Winter Cup” tournament
