WJSN member Dayoung showed off a bold makeup look. Magazine BEAUTY+ released the cover and gravure for Dayoung’s September issue. In the released cover, Dayoung matched blonde hair, heavy smoky eye makeup, a fedora, and a brown western jacket, showing off her polished beauty. She expressed a variety of styles, such as smoky makeup and subtle glitter makeup, with her own unique coolness. On August 4, Dayoung released the collaboration single “FLIRTY” with Park Jaebeom through various music streaming sites. It is a new song released four months after her solo single “What’s a girl to do,” which she released in April. Since entering the music industry in 2015 as a member of WJSN, Dayoung has, for the first time as a solo artist, completed a song and stage together with another artist, successfully expanding her musical spectrum. Their chemistry was proven at “2025 MMA (2025 MelOn Music Awards)” held at the end of last year and at this year’s “WATERBOMB SEOUL 2026.” In an interview with BEAUTY+, Dayoung introduced the new song “FLIRTY” as “a song that depicts the moment when mutual attraction begins, just before love starts.” She said that in order to express the excitement of the song like a single film, she completed the performance by carefully matching not only eye contact, facial expressions, and breathing with Park Jaebeom, but also the distance between the two of them. She also mentioned the process of directly participating in the lyrics and composition. Looking back on the moment she was making the song in Los Angeles, U.S., Dayoung said that because the image she wanted to express was clear from the beginning, she ended up proposing a collaboration to Park Jaebeom. She also honestly spoke about the mindset that changed through her solo activities. Dayoung said that she has come to actively reflect her own thoughts not only in music but also in concepts, visuals, and performance overall, and that as a result, her sense of responsibility for the finished product has grown. Along with this, she added that she newly discovered that she feels great enjoyment in the process of directly planning and completing something. Dayoung, who is usually highly interested in beauty and styling, also spoke about the smoky makeup she showed in this gravure. She said it was interesting that even small changes in hair and makeup can express completely different moods, and revealed that she wants to continue challenging herself with diverse styles. Dayoung emphasized that sincerity is the most important thing in communicating with fans, and revealed that she hopes even a short message can fully convey her feelings. Whenever she faces a new challenge, she thinks of her fans first, and she vowed to continue showing growth through music and the stage.
