To create the "Music" MAGAZINE, we invite one picked-up artist every month to draw out their charm in the music variety show "M:ZINE (Engine)." The picked-up artist for September is BOYNEXTDOOR. The M:ZINE editorial team members, Mrs. GREEN APPLE's Kaito Wakai, Aiseki Start's Hiroshi Yamazoe, and TV Asahi's announcer Mio Hayashi, will delve into their new charm for the second time in about a year. BOYNEXTDOOR debuted in 2023 as the first group from KOZ Entertainment, led by Zico of Block B, under HYBE MUSIC GROUP. Comprising six members: Sonho, Riu, Jehyun, Tesan, Ihan, and Unak, they have a friendly and natural charm that resonates with people, gaining immense popularity worldwide. Their digital single "IF I SAY, I LOVE YOU" released in January topped the Korean Apple Music TOP100 for 37 consecutive days, becoming a social phenomenon. In May, they released their 4th EP "No Genre," recording first-week sales of approximately 1.16 million copies. Since their concert in Incheon last December, they successfully held their first concert tour across 13 Asian cities and performed at the Lollapalooza Chicago music festival in August. Additionally, they released their highly anticipated second Japanese single "BOYLIFE" in the same month, achieving first place in various rankings. To explore BOYNEXTDOOR's true selves, who are appearing for the first time in about a year since last July, the members, along with Kaito Wakai and Hiroshi Yamazoe, visit a monjayaki restaurant. While enjoying monjayaki for the first time in their lives, they passionately discuss the artists who influenced them. Jehyun expresses a desire to let the members try monjayaki, which he has eaten before. Yamazoe demonstrates how to make it, but it doesn't go well... Afterward, the BOYNEXTDOOR members also try making monjayaki. While eating, they share their thoughts on covering Mrs. GREEN APPLE's "Ao to Natsu" during their tour. In a Q&A segment, they discuss their favorite music genres and artists, as well as the most influential live performances they've attended. Unak mentions a famous artist and reveals the story behind it. Jehyun and Sonho also mention Mrs. GREEN APPLE, much to Wakai's delight. In the following weeks, BOYNEXTDOOR will showcase their hidden talents. Ihan will produce a strange sound from his cheek, and Unak will talk about a member's talent that he finds "embarrassing."
