Amid suspicions that a web variety content appearance by i-dle’s Miyeon violated the Medical Service Act, the competent health authority formally requested the police to investigate the case. On the 16th, an online user revealed through an online community that, regarding the video in which Miyeon underwent an endoscopy during a health checkup, the Yongsan District Health Center, the competent authority, had informed them of a policy to request an investigation concerning the exposure of medical institution information and procedure scenes. The petitioner in question had filed a petition through the National Petition system on the 7th, asking whether the video in question constituted patient solicitation and illegal medical advertising under the current Medical Service Act, and whether there was any involvement by the medical institution and the production team. In its response to the petition, the health center stated, 'Because it is difficult to independently determine whether the medical advertisement contained in the video was carried out through direct involvement by the medical institution or through consideration, we have decided to request an investigation by the police.' In addition, the production team announced regarding the RESCENE episode, which had been scheduled for release on the 15th, that 'for a more thorough review, it will go through a deliberation procedure, and this week we have no choice but to postpone the release.' Prior to this, on the 1st of this month, the YouTube channel 'The Evangelist' released a video titled 'i-dle’s Miyeon, first health checkup at age 30, did I say something strange?' In this video, Miyeon’s health checkup was shown. In the process, not only the hospital’s trade name, medical staff, and interior facilities, but also the phrase 'Health Checkup Center, Stomach and Colon Endoscopy Specialty Hospital' was exposed without being censored, leading to voices pointing out the possibility of a violation of the Medical Service Act. As the controversy spread, the production team of 'The Evangelist' issued an official statement and denied the allegations. They said, 'The production team paid for the performer’s health checkup and medical expenses. We also inform you that there was no purpose of soliciting or promoting the use of any specific medical institution or medical personnel.' They also revealed, 'While introducing the health checkup in detail, we confirmed that in some scenes there were parts where information that could identify the medical institution had not been sufficiently processed. After the teaser video was released, we rechecked it and immediately completed additional blurring and other measures.
