A tax evasion suspicion of 20 billion won (about 2 billion yen) has emerged regarding ASTRO's Cha Eun-woo, and his recent situation has been reported. Today (26th), a representative from his agency fantagio revealed in an interview with Newsen, "It is true that Cha Eun-woo took a vacation at the beginning of the year." This is believed to be a regular vacation. Last year, he was investigated by the Seoul Regional Tax Office's Investigation Division 4 for tax evasion suspicion through a personal planning company established by his mother. The tax office notified him of additional taxation exceeding 20 billion won, which is said to be the largest amount imposed on a Korean celebrity. Cha Eun-woo has been operating under a contract with the personal planning company established by his mother and fantagio to support his entertainment activities. It has been revealed that his earned income was evenly distributed among fantagio, the personal planning company, and Cha Eun-woo. The tax office judged that the personal planning company established by his mother does not provide substantial services and is a paper company, determining that Cha Eun-woo and his mother established the corporation to reduce income tax, applying a corporate tax rate that is 20 percentage points lower than the income tax rate. Cha Eun-woo's side is currently requesting a review of the appropriateness of the tax office's decision through a pre-tax assessment after receiving the notification. He enlisted in the army as an active duty soldier in July last year and is currently serving in the military band.
