Yesterday (the 4th), Kim Go-eun's agency BH Entertainment revealed that she donated 50 million won (about 500,000 USD) to Seoul National University Children's Hospital to help pediatric patients in need. She added, 'I will continue to strive to be an actor who can repay the love I have received from many people.' On the same day, Han Ji-min, from the same agency, also donated 50 million won to JTS (Join Together Society). Han Ji-min's donation is expected to be used for substantial support in areas needing assistance, including hunger relief for children worldwide and providing educational opportunities. She has participated in JTS's fundraising campaigns since 2007 and has led the campaign by engaging with citizens during street fundraising events held on Children's Day and at the end of the year. She also participated in a street fundraising event in Myeongdong on the 2nd of last month. Park Chung-gwan, the representative of GFoundation, expressed deep gratitude to Ryeowook for his meaningful sharing and stated, 'We will utilize the donated funds transparently to bring about substantial changes for children in need.' The news of the stars' donations was announced on Children's Day (the 5th) when IU's agency EDAM Entertainment revealed that IU donated a total of 100 million won in the name of 'IUAENA' (IU + UAENA, the name of her fans). IU's donation was divided equally between the Korean Child Welfare Association and the National Association of Regional Child Centers, each receiving 50 million won. The funds are expected to support items and medical expenses for children living in welfare facilities and provide gifts and cultural experiences for children at regional child centers celebrating their birthdays. Changmin of TVXQ also donated 55 million won (about 550,000 USD) to Samsung Seoul Hospital on Children's Day, sharing his warm heart. On the 5th, Samsung Seoul Hospital announced that Changmin donated 55 million won to the Pediatric Youth Patient Happiness Fund, which will be used to assist pediatric and youth patients who face treatment constraints due to economic difficulties. While delivering his donation on Children's Day, Changmin expressed, 'On a day when all children around the world should be the happiest, I wanted to be a small source of strength for children who are spending difficult times fighting illness in hospital rooms. I sincerely support a future where children can regain their bright, healthy smiles and freely pursue their important dreams.'
