
Jun from SEVENTEEN has become the new face of the Hainan Island International Film Festival. Today (26th), according to Pledis Entertainment, Jun has been appointed as the Youth Ambassador for the 7th Hainan Island International Film Festival. He will serve as a bridge connecting audiences and films as a promising young talent in the Chinese film industry. The Hainan Island International Film Festival is a large-scale event where filmmakers from around the world gather, taking place from December 3 to 9 in Sanya, Hainan Province, China. This year, it has attracted attention early on with over 4,600 works submitted from 119 countries and regions. In August of this year, Jun co-starred with Jackie Chan and Leon Lai in the film 'Shadows Edge,' which premiered globally starting in China. He has shown a strong presence as a major actor, being invited to both the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival and the 30th Busan International Film Festival. His Chinese period drama 'Yun Gui Xi Shi' is also set to be released soon on the Chinese OTT platform iQIYI. Jun made his film debut in 2006 with 'Wild Dogs' and won the Best Newcomer Award at the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild the following year. He was the first child actor from China to be nominated for the Best New Actor category at the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards. In 2023, he won the Popularity Award at the Busan International Film Festival's Asia Content Awards & Global OTT Awards for the youth romance drama 'Exclusive Fairy Tale.'
