Since their debut on March 25th, the "super rookie" ILLIT, who has been dominating global charts, made their first performance in Japan at the largest fashion & music event "Rakuten GirlsAward 2024 SPRING/SUMMER" held at the National Yoyogi Stadium on May 3rd. When the members appeared, the venue was filled with cheers. ILLIT performed three songs from their 1st mini album "SUPER REAL ME," starting with "My World," expressing the world they see, experience, and feel as it is, followed by "Magnetic," expressing honest feelings for someone they like, and "Lucky Girl Syndrome," incorporating moments when they feel like the luckiest girl in the world. The venue was filled with excitement by their free-spirited and lively presence. The title track "Magnetic" in particular has been causing a trend in Japan, recording the highest weekly streaming numbers for a foreign female artist on the Oricon chart's "Weekly Streaming Ranking" and ranking first on billboard JAPAN's "TikTok Weekly Top 20." The "Magnetic Dance," likening the heart attracted to someone to a magnet, has been leading the trend of short-form challenges, creating a particularly hot excitement, captivating a large audience as the lyrics say "super attraction." Through talks, ILLIT expressed their joy at being able to perform at a fashion event for the first time during their first activities in Japan, saying, "I am very honored," and expressing their gratitude to the fans for spending such a special stage together. The Japanese members also expressed deep emotions about their first stage in their hometown after their debut, raising expectations for their future activities in Japan. Their 1st mini album "SUPER REAL ME," released on March 25th, has been a "half-million seller" with a cumulative sales volume of 531,838 copies as of April 26th, according to the Korean HANTEO chart. They have been unstoppable, charting on the US Billboard "HOT100" (April 20th) and the UK "Official Singles Top 100" (April 5th) with their debut K-POP song. They are scheduled to perform at "KCON JAPAN 2024" on May 12th and "Show! Music Core in Japan" on June 29th and 30th, and with their active activities in Japan amidst their increasing global popularity, they are becoming more and more unmissable.
