The Supreme Court explained, 'We examined all the original trial judgments and the reasons for the appeal, but the claims regarding the reasons for the appeal do not include the reasons specified in Article 4, Paragraph 1 of the Special Act on Appellate Procedures, or fall under the reasons specified in Paragraph 3 of the same article.' Additionally, all appeal costs were to be borne by the ex-husband. After the ruling, the woman expressed, 'This is the result after waiting for more than four years. Despite not being unfaithful, I was claimed to be so, causing harm to many people, but I was able to escape from the double standard human nature and gaslighting.' In January 2023, Choi Jung-won was sued by the husband of a woman he had known for a long time as a 'fornicating man.' The husband claimed that Choi Jung-won had an inappropriate relationship with his wife from December 2022 and filed a lawsuit for 100 million won in damages. In response, Choi Jung-won fully denied the related allegations and filed charges against the woman's husband for threats, defamation, and insult. The husband also filed charges in response, but both were dismissed without suspicion.
