Stray Kids appeared on 'SBS 8 News' yesterday (21st). The members shared their thoughts on achieving an unprecedented record of eight consecutive No. 1s on the 'Billboard 200' through an interview with anchor Lee Hyun-young. They also discussed the success of their world tour, their self-production system, the characteristics of Stray Kids' music, their relationship with fans (named STAY), and their wishes and aspirations for the New Year in 2026, attracting attention. In particular, Stray Kids also showcased a special performance in the news studio at the end of the interview. This was the first interview since they set the record of eight consecutive No. 1s on the 'Billboard 200' where all members participated. SBS plans to release various content, including full video of the interview and behind-the-scenes footage, through their homepage and YouTube, in addition to what was broadcasted on '8 News.' Bang Chan mentioned that the record of eight consecutive No. 1s on the 'Billboard 200' from 'ODDINARY' in 2022 to 'DO IT' still feels like a dream, stating, 'It was possible thanks to the members and STAY.' He explained that the motivation behind updating their record after three months was the passion to 'take responsibility for their music,' even while busy with overseas tours. Lino introduced the pure gold plaque given by Park Jin-young (J.Y. Park) when they recorded seven consecutive No. 1s on the 'Billboard 200' in August, expressing anticipation for the ceremony for eight consecutive No. 1s. I.N shared that they have conducted 56 performances in 35 cities through the 'dominATE' tour, totaling 108 performances in 45 cities since 2019, and credited STAY for their achievement on the Billboard tour chart. He expressed a desire to deliver more love. Felix emphasized the importance of spending time with Korean fans when preparing for new albums, stating, 'The time spent with Korean fans is precious.' Seungmin described STAY as a 'compass' that shows the direction Stray Kids should go, stating, 'I always strive to face STAY sincerely.' Hyunjin and Changbin mentioned the producing team 3RACHA as a competitive edge for Stray Kids. Hyunjin noted that creating their own albums and songs allows for more honest storytelling in their music, while Changbin explained that their goal is to infuse Stray Kids' unique color into the same genre, drawing inspiration from daily life and conversations for their songwriting. Han described Stray Kids' music as 'strange + ideal,' stating that while it may feel odd at first, it contains relatable stories and ideal dreams upon closer listening. The members unanimously agreed that the Korean elements present in songs like 'Scars' and 'DIVINE' are significant features of Stray Kids' music. Han explained that they express their uniqueness through visually arranged costumes and set designs inspired by traditional images and hanbok, as well as through 'language play' incorporating Korean culture in their music. Hyunjin described the relationship among members as 'loving family and colleagues,' stating that they resolve conflicts immediately. Felix mentioned spending time traveling with members as a way to rest amidst their busy schedules, stating that this process also inspires their music production. Changbin expressed joy in being praised for their music, especially when it is described as 'different' or 'new,' and stated that they wish to continue their music activities with these keywords. Bang Chan, looking ahead to 2026, stated that the most important goal is health, wishing for all members, STAY, and viewers to be healthy. I.N expressed a hope for 2026 to be a happier year for everyone and stated that Stray Kids will showcase more diverse appearances.
