Billlie has released a comment regarding plagiarism allegations. Billlie's agency MYSTIC STORY stated yesterday (25th) through their official SNS about the preview video 'CARTOGRAPHY OF THE UNCONSCIOUS' for the track '$ECRET no more' from their 1st full album 'the collective soul and unconscious: chapter two'. The agency said, 'After becoming aware of opinions regarding the similarity of some characters in the video to specific works, we immediately conducted a thorough verification process with the video director responsible for the planning and creation throughout the entire production process.' As a result, it was confirmed that 'the video was produced based on the director's thorough planning and creative intent, and there was no intention to deliberately quote specific works or infringe copyright.' While denying the allegations, they apologized, stating, 'Billie has always created works based on the unique imagination and collaboration of creators. Although this work was completed through various production methods, we deeply apologize for causing concern to fans due to this matter.' They also stated, 'In the future, we promise to apply clearer creative standards in content production and will not produce any works using generative AI that could compromise the quality of the content.' Prior to this, suspicions arose that characters in the video may have mimicked a certain overseas short animation work. The agency denied this, and the video creator also explained the planning intent and process through their Instagram, denying plagiarism. Billlie's 1st full album 'the collective soul and unconscious: chapter two' will be released on May 6.
