STARSHIP Entertainment made a comment regarding the judgment concerning the trademark rights of IVE. Today (2nd), STARSHIP Entertainment stated through its official SNS account, 'This matter was advanced independently by an agent without prior consultation with our company,' and 'After confirming the relevant facts, we immediately examined the legality and withdrew the complaint.' They continued, 'We regret the confusion caused to many during this process.' Prior to this, the leather workshop 'IVE Leather Goods' claimed to have received a notification from STARSHIP regarding the cancellation of trademark registration. They stated, 'STARSHIP Entertainment sought a judgment from the Patent Office to cancel the trademark rights of IVE leather goods and IVE leather workshop, which included my English name registered before IVE's debut. The trademark was already registered in 2019, and IVE debuted in 2021,' and 'There are details of exhibitions and collaborations conducted in cooperation with public institutions, so why did this happen? I inherited the workshop run by my parents, and although I am currently resting, I must protect the brand.' They also emphasized that they officially registered four product groups for trademarks from 2015 until 2019. In response, STARSHIP stated, 'We respect the rights and efforts of those who have continued their business sincerely for a long time,' and 'We will manage with greater care to ensure that such matters do not recur and will do our utmost to prevent unnecessary misunderstandings for artists and fans.'
