The agency, BELIFT LAB, expressed concern today (14th) through an official comment, stating, "We have confirmed a recent surge in excessively malicious comments directed at ILLIT and individual artists." They emphasized the seriousness of the situation, particularly as some members are minors, and malicious accusations and slander continue mainly in anonymous communities. The agency stated, "We plan to strengthen monitoring to protect artists' rights and proceed with stricter responses to malicious comments," showing a firm stance. They continued, "Posts that insult or defame artists, or display false facts leading to defamation, are criminal acts subject to prosecution without exception," and added, "Even if relevant posts are deleted after a certain time to conceal evidence, we will collect related evidence in real-time through our monitoring system and utilize it as evidence for legal action." They reiterated, "We will respond to any illegal acts that infringe on artists' rights without any agreement or leniency," and emphasized, "We will do our utmost to ensure criminal penalties are imposed on illegal actors in accordance with relevant laws." SOURCE MUSIC, another label under HYBE, also recently pointed out the increase in malicious comments directed at LE SSERAFIM and warned of legal action. ILLIT is set to make a comeback with their first single, 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE,' on the 24th.
