After the announcement of BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) Jin's encore concert, some accommodations around the venue raised their prices over 20 times, causing anger among fans. Jin recently informed fans through the fan communication platform Weverse about the encore performance of his first fan concert tour, titled ‘#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR_ENCORE’. The concert will be held from October 31 to November 1 at the Incheon Munhak Stadium in the Michuhol District of Incheon. His first fan concert tour began in June this year in Goyang and included a total of 18 performances in 9 cities, including Japan, the USA, and Europe. Jin is expected to showcase a stage that condenses the experiences he has accumulated while touring the world during the encore concert in Incheon. His agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, stated, ‘In response to the passionate requests from ARMY (the name of the fans), we have prepared the encore performance. We hope you look forward to a special stage that can only be experienced in Incheon. We are expanding the scale compared to the Goyang concert in June and the artists are doing their best to prepare for closer interaction with more audience. We ask for your interest and support.’ However, after the news of the encore concert was announced, there were reports that some accommodations around the venue had skyrocketed in price. Recently, a post titled ‘After BTS Jin's concert announcement, hotels raised prices 20 times and called to cancel’ gained attention on social media and online communities. The poster revealed, ‘Even though the reservation was confirmed, I received a call from the booking site saying there was a mistake in the price and they would cancel my reservation. Even during the holiday period, the price was high at 80,000 won (about 8,000 yen), but it was raised to 1,075,000 won (about 107,000 yen).’ This person clarified that they had booked using a discount coupon for around 50,000 won (about 5,000 yen) and shared a screenshot of the payment breakdown and reservation confirmation. They also published evidence showing that accommodation prices were set at 900,000 won (about 90,000 yen) and 1,070,000 won (about 107,000 yen) only on the concert date. It was reported that the relevant accommodation later adjusted the price to around 300,000 won (about 30,000 yen). However, this is still 2-3 times higher than normal prices. Net users pointed out that it is a common phenomenon for accommodation prices to rise significantly around the dates of popular artist performances. Additionally, fans planning to come from afar expressed feelings of disillusionment over the excessive accommodation pricing.
