The movie 'The Devil Has Moved In,' featuring YoonA from Girls' Generation in a dual role and the contrasting charm of Ahn Bo-hyun, aims for summer screenings in Korean theaters. A production report meeting for the film was held yesterday (6th) at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul, attended by YoonA, Ahn Bo-hyun, Joo Hyun-young, and director Lee Sang-gun. The film is a comedy depicting the misadventures of Gil-guk (Ahn Bo-hyun), a young NEET who takes on an unprecedented part-time job of monitoring Song-ji (YoonA), who wakes up as a devil every dawn. Director Lee Sang-gun, who set a hit record with 9.42 million viewers for the 2019 film 'EXIT,' had considered this work as his debut project. It is the only original film this summer in Korea without a source material. YoonA challenges an image change through her dual role character, stating, 'Song-ji had the most energy of any character I've played before,' and added, 'I tried to approach it differently in tone, visuals, and expression. When I read the script, I thought it might be embarrassing, but the director's direction felt comfortable, allowing me to immerse boldly. Watching the film now makes me feel even more emotion than during filming.' Ahn Bo-hyun also stepped away from his usual strong image to portray a pure and harmless young man. He expressed, 'I wanted to show a different side this time. Gil-guk is kind inside, despite his appearance,' and noted how YoonA accurately distinguished her role as Song-ji, greatly aiding him as a co-star. He referenced the director's guidance as very helpful, stating that after watching the film, all the settings became clear. Director Lee Sang-gun explained, 'The reason for making a young unemployed person the protagonist again is due to personal experience,' and added, 'I have been drawn to their stories while aiming to be a film director for a long time.' He also mentioned that the script has been in preparation since 2014, stating, 'It's a film that's hard to categorize by genre, but I hope everyone accepts it in their own way.' The movie 'The Devil Has Moved In' will be released in Korea on August 13.
