GOKKO Co., Ltd. announced the vertical short drama 'Zankon' in collaboration with Iwill Media Ltd., which has produced many hit works including the popular Korean dramas 'Oniya' and 'Hyakuninriki Butler'. 'Zankon' is an action fantasy work where a popular streamer obsessed with view counts, 'Kanmu', accidentally acquires a sword and encounters the soul of the female swordswoman 'Arachi', engaging in battles against 'Oni' lurking in modern society. Jin-an from iKON plays the lead role of Kanmu for the first time, showcasing charm with freshness and solid expressiveness, gathering overwhelming trust from the staff with concentration and delicate expression that doesn't seem like a first lead role. New actress Kim Ye-hyun, who plays the female swordswoman Arachi, adds new color to the work with her acting that embodies a solid presence amidst freshness. The main villain, Odokushini, symbolizing 'human desire', is played by the capable actor Ahn Jae-mo, who displays an overwhelming 'dark presence'. Block B's Je-hyo plays a mysterious role as a 'watcher' possessed by a Joseon warrior. Additionally, Zhao Se-yi, who just finished her first lead role in 'Secrets, Tutors, and High School Girls', appears as the supporting character Te-ju, embodying a key character as a Japanese exchange student desperately learning Korean, showcasing the cultural mix unique to this Japan-Korea co-production. Furthermore, Clara, who won the 'Best Actress in Asia' award at the 'AIFF Asia International Film Festival 2024', and T-ARA's Qri, who also appeared in the Japan-Korea co-produced drama 'Nebula', make special appearances, adding glamour to the work. Filming in Korea is set to finish by the end of September 2025, and post-production is currently in its final stages. After completion, it will be exclusively distributed in Japan on 'POPCORN', with preparations underway for global expansion. This large-scale joint project by both countries aims for worldwide distribution in early 2026. ■ Work Information 'Zankon' Distribution: Scheduled for early 2026 (Exclusive distribution in Japan on POPCORN / Global OTT) Cast: Kim Jin-an (iKON), Kim Ye-hyun, Zhao Se-yi (Jo Se-i), Ahn Jae-mo, Je-hyo (Block B), Clara, Qri (T-ARA), etc. Genre: Fantasy Action Short Drama Production: GOKKO Co., Ltd.
