i-dle’s Wugi has returned with the new album “Twenty-Seven” after 1 year and 1 month. On the 8th of this month, Wugi released her 2nd mini album “Twenty-Seven (27).” “Twenty-Seven” vividly portrays Wugi’s inner self, comparing her age, which carries worries behind her bright appearance, to a sunflower, and expressing that no matter where she is or what form she takes, she herself is the protagonist and loves herself. The new album was filled with all self-written songs by Wugi. The title track “Stay” contains the message of moving forward while chasing the light together with precious beings who have spent time together, even if the future is uncertain and there are rules and walls set by the world. In addition, through the included tracks “快乐,” “Chamomile Tea,” “I Like You,” “Feels Right,” and “银河之舞,” one can catch a glimpse of Wugi’s even more expanded musical color. — You have made a comeback as a solo singer after 1 year and 1 month; how do you feel now? Wugi: I have steadily prepared the album until now. I would be happy if it becomes a gift for the fans. I prepared it as a Chinese-language album in order to include the story of my 27-year-old self, so I think it has a special meaning. — In the new album “Twenty-Seven,” you expressed your 27 years of age in various ways, but what message did you want to convey through the theme of your age? Wugi: I wanted to convey the message, “Love yourself no matter what kind of form you are in.” — What kind of song is “Stay”? Please also introduce the reason you decided on “Stay” as the title track and the part you want people to pay the most attention to when listening. Wugi: “Stay” contains the youth story itself of Wugi at 27. I decided on it as the title track with the meaning of “Let’s always run while looking at the sunlight like a sunflower” and “Tomorrow will surely be better,” and I would be happy if people also pay attention to the meaning of the lyrics that move back and forth between Chinese and English. — Following the previous work “Motivation,” you also participated in writing and composing all the songs on this album. I am curious about the part you paid the most attention to while producing songs of various genres. Wugi: I challenged genres I had not shown before. Though clumsy, I wanted to convey my story at 27, so I put a lot of effort into the lyrics. I would be happy if you would look at the lyrics of all six songs at least once. — The music video for the pre-released included track “I Like You” also drew a lot of attention, but was there a special reason for releasing this song first? Wugi: I thought it was the song that connected best with the album’s theme. It is a song I personally really like, so I pre-released it because I wanted NEVERLAND (the fan name) to hear it first. — Finally, please say a word to the fans who were waiting for your solo album. Wugi: I put my honest story at 27 into it, so please love it a lot! Thank you always!
