SM Entertainment reveals NCT DREAM, BoA, Lucas, RIIZE, and Doyoung's comebacks for March and April, along with Wendy's successful solo album release.

SM Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as SM) has announced its comeback lineup for March and April. Today (the 14th), SM introduced the comeback lineup through a document titled "2024 2nd Quarter is also a green light! SM, full deployment of March and April core lineups." First, NCT DREAM, who made a global impact with last year's 3rd full album "ISTJ," will release a new album "DREAM( )SCAPE" on the 25th of this month. They plan to deliver music with messages of empathy and comfort to modern young people, and to show a more mature appearance and their unique musical color. In addition, they plan to hold their third world tour "THE DREAM SHOW 3," starting with a Seoul performance in May 2024, and travel to North and South America, Europe, Asia, and other regions, demonstrating their worldwide activities as a "global group" and proving their status once again. At the end of March, the comeback of "legendary artist" BoA is also scheduled. She is the producer of NCT WISH, which debuted simultaneously in Korea and Japan, and has been active in various fields as a senior. Expectations are high for her album, which she will perform for the first time in about 1 year and 4 months since releasing her 3rd mini-album "Forgive Me" in November 2022. Then, on April 1st, Lucas will release his 1st single "Renegade" and make his solo debut. He plans to show his unique musical color and versatile artist side, attracting attention. Next, "top-level newcomer" RIIZE announced that they are preparing for a comeback in April and also conveyed the news of a fan concert tour. Starting with performances at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul on May 4th and 5th, they announced the start of full-fledged global activities by holding the "2024 RIIZE FAN-CON TOUR 'RIIZING DAY'" in 9 regions around the world, including Seoul and Tokyo. Furthermore, Doyoung, who is active as an "all-rounder" in group activities such as NCT, NCT 127, NCT U, and Dojejeong, as well as acting and MCing, is said to be releasing his 1st solo album in April. He is expected to announce a different charm from group activities, raising expectations. Prior to this, Wendy of Red Velvet, who made a comeback as a solo artist, released her 2nd mini-album "Wish You Hell" on the 12th of this month. Not only did she achieve 1st place in 21 regions worldwide on the iTunes Top Album Chart, but she also topped the digital album sales charts of China's largest music platforms QQ MUSIC and Kugou Music, as well as the retail album charts of HANTEO Chart, CIRCLE Chart, YES24, and other major album charts in Korea, proving her global popularity.

On the morning of the 21st, RIIZE’s Wonbin headed to Japan through Gimpo International Airport for his schedule. The text also notes that RIIZE will try acoustic pop for the first time with their new song “Insomnia,” set for digital release on October 26, and that they have renewed their exclusive model contract with Korean skincare brand UIQ for a fourth time, while also teasing a special collaboration product.
NCT DREAM unveiled the music video for “The Sun” ahead of their 6th full album, “DREAM AFTER DREAM.” The cinematic MV follows the six members on a camping-car journey, highlighting their bond and youthful emotion. The album, featuring 10 tracks including “Boogie Woogie,” releases Nov. 9.
RIIZE will digitally release its new song “Insomnia” on October 26 at midnight, with the music video also premiering on SMTOWN’s YouTube channel. The acoustic pop track highlights the six members’ vocals and expresses quiet, lonely late-night feelings. Promotions and a Seoul fan event will follow.
SM Entertainment announced it is pursuing strong legal action against people who posted defamatory, insulting, threatening, and stalking-related content targeting NCT’s Jisung across platforms like X, YouTube, and SpinSpin. A first-trial court fined one defendant 5 million won, and additional complaints are under police investigation.
Some K-pop artists, including IVE, KiiiKiii, FIFTY FIFTY, and Park Hyo-shin, submitted songs for the Grammy’s new Best Asian Pop Music Performance category, along with Japanese and other Asian acts. But BTS, Stray Kids, and other major-label artists declined, amid debate over whether the category helps or isolates Asian music.
OXFAM SUPERLIVE, a donation talk concert organized by the international relief and development organization OXFAM to support vulnerable people around the world, was held on the afternoon of the 17th at Gwanghwamun Sejong-ro Park in Seoul. Wendy, Lee Je-hoon, EVNNE, and idntt appeared on stage.
