"The invader" and "the invaded." A shocking work "Invasion" that reveals the depths of their intertwined relationship. Officially invited to the "Korean Cinema Today Panorama" section of the 29th Busan International Film Festival, this work has been invited to prestigious film festivals worldwide, deeply shaking the hearts of viewers. It achieved the remarkable feat of debuting at number one as a Korean live-action film, generating significant buzz. Starring Girls' Generation's Yuri, Kwak Seon-young, Lee Sol, and Ki So-yu, they shed their familiar images to portray characters in turmoil with sharpness and delicacy. A mother tormented by fear and the weight of responsibility for her daughter's dangerous behavior, and a daughter who cannot understand her mother, gazing at her with unsettling eyes. Twenty years later, a bright and innocent intruder suddenly appears before a woman who has lost her childhood memories. The two stories of past and present are connected by an "unexpected intrusion," intertwining in a hellish manner. The intense and realistic narrative evokes a suffocating tension and unsettling murmurs, gradually eroding the sanity of all viewers. The newly released trailer opens with a 7-year-old girl repeatedly engaging in eye-covering dangerous acts towards her innocent friend. She gazes at the camera with eyes seemingly painted black, asking with a smile, "Mom, are you scared of me too?" This line heralds the beginning of all nightmares. The mother desperately trying to suppress her uncontrollable violent daughter faces despair and fear. And twenty years later, inexplicable events surrounding the two, who harbor dark pasts, lead to the collapse of their lives. Burned and blistered hands, a man being strangled by someone, a child's small body sinking in a pool, a woman smiling while covered in blood, and someone engulfed in flames and going wild. The relentless series of shocking images mercilessly crosses the boundaries of reason. As the past, present, and unseen future intertwine, what is revealed as the "born monster"? As the madness each character harbors quietly erodes one another, can the viewer maintain their "sanity" until the end? This film tests the limits of the viewer's psyche. The poster visual features the main cast, including Kwon Yuri, Kwak Seon-young, Lee Sol, and Ki So-yu, quietly emerging from a dark background. Below, an illustration of monochrome flowers wrapped in an unsettling atmosphere is accompanied by a provocative copy asking, "Can you maintain your sanity?" with the title "Invasion" prominently engraved. When the relationship between the past and twenty years later is revealed, the film "Invasion" shows an unexpected conclusion, opening nationwide on September 5 (Friday) at Shinjuku Piccadilly and other locations.
