STARSHIP says it has filed additional complaints over false posts and malicious content targeting IVE’s Wonyoung and will pursue civil and criminal action.

STARSHIP Entertainment announced the current status of its legal response regarding rights violations involving IVE. STARSHIP Entertainment recently revealed through its official social media account, “Among the cases that our company has been handling through our legal representative, the law firm Kim & Chang, a defendant who was indicted for crimes such as spreading false videos targeting our artists was recently sentenced to imprisonment by the court.” It continued, “Recently, we completed the collection of evidence against some YouTube channels that have repeatedly posted malicious content targeting our artist Wonyoung, as well as so-called cyber wreckers (YouTubers who stir up controversy), and against those who spread false facts on various online communities and social media and posted malicious slander, and we filed additional complaints today.” It also added, “Even after objective facts have been confirmed, we are continuing to collect related materials regarding acts of repeatedly posting and spreading the same or similar false content again, or arbitrarily editing and distorting some scenes of videos to spread false facts.” STARSHIP Entertainment emphasized, “We will continue monitoring not only the original posters of malicious posts and content, but also accounts and channels that repeatedly post and spread them, and we plan to take corresponding civil and criminal measures,” and “Even if anonymous or pseudonymous accounts, or overseas platforms, are used, we will proceed with the necessary legal procedures both inside and outside Korea, identify the posters and spreaders, and pursue responsibility to the end.”
