In one year, five albums, seven digital singles, and 56 performances. The 13-member group SEVENTEEN, active around the world, is opening a new paradigm for an activity period with no military-service gap, the so-called “military activity period,” by putting units and solos to the forefront. SEVENTEEN’s intense sprint, which overcame the “military blank period,” was possible precisely because it was supported by each member’s individuality and ability. The main vocal DxS (DK and Seungkwan), and the unit V8 of The8 and Vernon, who have built an original musical world, each released new music in January and June of this year. In August, Dino impressed with the image of an “all-round player” through an album that fused his sub-character “Picheolin” and his own “main character” self. Jun expanded his range of activities by moving back and forth between music and acting. His first solo Chinese EP, “9,” released on the 28th of last month, drew attention with its unique theme of “a cat with nine tails.” The music video for the title track “9” immediately after release ranked No. 1 on the popular video chart of China’s video platform Bilibili, and also entered the daily popular music video charts on YouTube in Korea, Singapore, Finland, and other places (as of September 28). On the 3rd, the film “Zhongsheng 2,” in which he starred, was released in China and is receiving favorable reviews. The launch of a new unit is also forthcoming. JxJ (Jeonghan and Joshua), who will release their 1st mini album “DREAMSCAPE” on the 19th, are the main characters. They put into the new work a dream world in which the two meanings of “dream”—the unconscious fantasy that arises while sleeping and the ideal one tries to achieve in reality—intertwine endlessly, collide, and unfold. The trailer released on the 5th heightened interest in the album with a dreamlike suspense in which languor and tension coexist. Such activities are more meaningful in that they establish each individual’s identity through tours. Starting with “CxM [DOUBLE UP] LIVE PARTY,” held from January to April last year, “DxS [SERENADE] ON STAGE” from April to July, and “2026 VERNON THE 8 [V8] LIVE” in July, major cities in Korea and abroad were electrified. Following Seoul in August, Dino will hold “2026 DINOxPICHEOLIN [吉BOARD SHOW]” in Macau from the 9th to the 11th. JxJ also plans to carry out “JEONGHAN X JOSHUA JOURNEY INTO [DREAMING]” in six cities in and outside Korea. Considering the world tour that ended in April last year and the fan meeting in May and June, SEVENTEEN will meet audiences at 56 performances this year alone. SEVENTEEN’s activities continue even offstage. Their self-produced content “GOING SEVENTEEN,” called “the infinite challenge of the K-pop world,” appeals to fans with new episodes every week. This season has been well received for a series of fresh projects, including the first episode, in which they made all kinds of bets in a tidal flat and showed “body gags,” “Red Bal,” in which they win prize money through psychological warfare, “12,317 won Happiness,” which reinterprets a classic variety show, and the hit-proof series “Don’t Lie.” Pledis Entertainment said, “Through diverse unit and solo activities, SEVENTEEN is showing each member’s individual ability while also expanding the group’s musical territory,” and added, “We ask for much anticipation and interest in their steps as they continue to take on new challenges and show more possibilities.”
On the afternoon of the 8th, former South Korean women’s volleyball player Kim Yeon-koung, SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan, Yang Hyo-jin, and producer Kwon Rak-hee attended the production presentation for MBC’s new variety program, “New Director Kim Yeon-koung 2,” held at the Golden Mouse Hall on the first floor of MBC in Sangam-dong, Seoul.
TOM FORD BEAUTY held its SS27 runway beauty event, where SEVENTEEN’s Joshua appeared as a guest in a classic navy suit and long coat. He praised the foundation, lip color, and new eye color product, and said he is preparing a unit album with Jeonghan and looking forward to Japan performances.
SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan and Joshua, forming the new unit JxJ, will release their first mini album, “DREAMSCAPE,” on Oct. 19, 2026, and begin their Asia tour on Oct. 30. The Japan performance at Belluna Dome on Nov. 22 will also be shown live in theaters nationwide, with a postcard giveaway for attendees.
SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan attended the opening event for the Mardi Mercredi pop-up store held on the morning of the 8th in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul. Related news notes that Jeonghan became Mardi Mercredi’s global ambassador and that Jeonghan and Joshua revealed the track list for their first mini album, DREAMSCAPE, whose title track is “12 o'clock.”
Seo Kang-joon reportedly sold his Seongsu-dong Trimage for 5.8 billion won and moved last summer to a luxury apartment in Samseong-dong worth about 6 billion won. The building has one household per floor, and neighbors include Hyun Bin, Son Ye-jin, Heechul, and The8. He is currently appearing in the drama 'Love, Different From You.'
SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan and Joshua’s new unit JxJ released the trailer DREAMSCAPE: BETWEEN TWELVES for their first mini album, DREAMSCAPE. The video blends dreams and reality with surreal imagery, circular motifs, and a tense, dreamy mood. The album arrives on the 19th, followed by a six-city solo tour.
