NCT’s Ten has opened a new chapter. Yesterday (the 4th), Ten released his solo single “OUTWEST” through various music streaming sites. The title track, “OUTWEST,” which is the same as the single’s title, is a song that crosses diverse genres such as hip-hop, techno house, and R&B, combined with Ten’s charming performance. Ten himself participated in composing and writing the lyrics, putting into the music the feeling and longing of always wanting to head to a new place. In the music video for “OUTWEST,” one can see his diverse sides. Through a fantastical and mysterious atmosphere that fills each frame, it not only highlighted Ten’s side as an artist, but also showed a deeper expressive ability as an “artistic performer” in whom music, performance, and visuals are fused. This single also includes the track “IRL” along with the title track “OUTWEST.” “IRL” is also a song in which he participated in composing and writing the lyrics, and into which he poured his own musical colors; with bright and warm energy, it contains the feelings he wants to convey to the people who have supported him for the past 10 years. Through the two songs, which have the appeal of different genres, Ten proved his broad musical spectrum and his ability as a singer-songwriter. In particular, since co-founding ILLIMNT in July, this is the first time he has overseen the entire process of “OUTWEST,” so attention is gathering on his steps as he takes a new departure as a solo artist. Prior to this, Ten also announced that he will hold a U.S. showcase tour. Starting with Seattle on October 17 this year, he plans to hold a showcase tour in 14 cities and meet local fans.
