
RBW, a comprehensive content company to which MAMAMOO+ belongs, has signed a large-scale content distribution contract worth 100 billion won (approximately 11 billion yen) over 5 years with Kakao Entertainment. On the 2nd, RBW revealed that they have signed a music and content distribution contract worth 80 billion won (approximately 8.9 billion yen, including WM Entertainment, totaling 100 billion won) over 5 years with Kakao Entertainment. RBW plans to use most of the contract money as future growth funds for the company. They will invest a large amount of funds in marketing to enhance the strength of artists and content production, and increase the overseas expansion of their artists. Kakao Entertainment will distribute promising music and content discovered and produced by RBW through numerous distribution platforms worldwide. Kim Jinu, the representative of RBW, stated, "Through this contract with Kakao Entertainment, which excels in music and content distribution, RBW is expected to have a strong influence in the content markets both domestically and internationally. We will continue to make large investments to enhance the content production capabilities of new artists and artists already active." RBW, established in 2010, successfully listed on KOSDAQ in November 2021 based on the results of discovering and producing artists such as MAMAMOO, ONEUS, ONEWE, and PURPLE KISS. In 2021 and 2022, they acquired WM Entertainment and DSP Media respectively, expanding their scale. Currently, WM Entertainment houses ONF, OH MY GIRL, B1A4, while DSP Media has KARA, KARD, MIRAE, and YOUNG POSSE. YOUNG POSSE, in particular, has garnered attention from numerous overseas media within about six months of their debut, making a name for themselves in America and demonstrating a presence overseas. In early 2023, RBW also acquired Urban Works, which produced popular variety show "Running Man" and co-produced Netflix original series "The Sword's Poem," growing into a comprehensive content company that produces not only music but also variety shows and dramas.
